Good Morning Thursday

Lovely morning, though I had a lie-in as I somehow got overtired yesterday. The washing is on the line and it looks like a good drying day.

I wish I WAS still in bed with a cup of tea. I was woken by my DH once again, having pleaded with him for years to let me be till I wake up. I thought I had scotched the "But I thought you were awake" by telling him he will know I am awake when I speak to him! - but he says he forgets. Sigh.

However the weather is clear and lovely and autumnal and the wood at the back of our home is slowly but steadily donning its autumn colours. And I am going to a lunchtime concert in the cathedral later, so lots to look forward to.

Good morning everyone. Cloudy over South East London following heavy rain during the night. I am also getting excited about family arriving. Both DD, their partners and both DGS arriving tomorrow (DGS2 birthday) from Cornwall for a family wedding. Boys are staying with us and the adults are staying at the local Travel Lodge. When they go home on Sunday I am going back with them for 10 days so that I will be there for DGS1 birthday. Today is hairdressers followed by shopping and making sure the fridge and freezer are stocked for DH to fend for himself.

Good morning to you all, it is dull here, and we could do with a little rain. I have been stupid enough to empty out all the old pots with the intentions of planting out the bulbs from them, I really think I should have left well alone. It is getting cold outside now. Never mind, enjoy your days.

Having a lazy morning and still in bed with a cup of tea.

Cloudy out but can see the sun over the sea. No rain yet. Nearly finished in the garden. Have decided to leave planting up with new herbaceous until next spring. Will just rearranged existing plants. The last big thing is the vine thing that completely covers the fence on the left hand side. I am waiting for it to turn it's glorious Autumn hues and then fall. Will take it hand this year and only allow it a section as I want to encourage a climbing hydrangea and clematis.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is wet wet wet in South Yorkshire this morning. I went swimming for an hour yesterday and today every muscle I have is screaming. Never had that before. Must be getting old. I have to go to the library this morning and the chiropodist is coming this afternoon. My cup runneth over! Have a good day folks!

Good morning from a sunny Staffordshire although they've just forecast heavy showers later.
We are SO excited as our DD2 from Yorkshire is driving to us this evening with our 3 year old DG for the weekend while SIL is on his disruptive on call shift next week. So this time tomorrow we'll be having breakfast together?
It coincides with 7 year birthday of one of our local DGDs so it's going to be a lovely weekend. Will not go to choir tonight so I don't miss their arrival and may miss a theatre date tomorrow too-although I may be able to sneak in at halftime.

Good morning from a grey damp Colchester. Rain and sun alternating. Some lovely rainbows yesterday and Mac on and off!
Visiting MIL today with two of her gt grandsons. She lights up when the little ones visit and she now has 9, three born this year.
School prize giving this evening with DS, we are very proud of him getting 5 prizes- doesn't take after me...

My back pain was caused by carrying a heavy shoulder bag. We weren't built to do anything were we?

Yes, I use both hands for painting. I use both hands for many things, actually. Not totally ambidextrous but nearly.

Pondering on the back problem, I'm wondering if it depends (partly; the main problem is arthritis) which muscles are being used the most. Hedging, scything, shooting arrows use big back and shoulder muscles and it's as much about getting alignment of joints right (especially in archery) as strength. Wall and woodwork painting uses hand, wrist and arm muscles more than the big back dudes. Not sure how that would cause strain in my low facet joints but it seems to. They're all connected up, right?

It's persisting it down in Norfolk. The last few days have seen heavy showers alternating with sunshine, but the showers are joining up. The gutter is overflowing. DH thinks it's blocked but I think the soakaway is full.

Do you use both hands for painting Bags? Alternating I mean. Perhaps you're stretching on way too much.

North Leicestershire is cold and damp this morning. And, sure enough, it pickled down on me for yesterday's school run.

Sainsbury's this morning and then meeting another gransnetter for a catch up and this afternoon.

Good morning, Mick, and all who follow. Still dark here but still dry, if cloudy, weather. Painting continues little by little. For some reason it seems to exacerbated my back problem, much more than hedging or scything does. Weird.
