Anything improved your life in 2016?

I have `private messaged` everyone who asked for details of the homeopathic treatment in case anyone wondered why it isn't shown here. Wanted to give everyone who asked a little insight into my condition so they could compare with their own.

Having finally, regretfully, accepted that there will be no more foreign travel for us, I have diverted our holiday money savings to replacing very old and faulty appliances. New enormous TV is a delight, it is total bliss to have a cooker that needs virtually no cleaning and on which all 4 of the rings work, a lawnmower, that does not cut out every few yards, a freezer that requires no defrosting and finally this week a brand new ironing board which is stable, folds in a jiffy, fits in the cupboard (the old one was too big) and not too high for me. As it only cost £12.99 from Aldi, I can't believe that I have put up with the old one (a wedding present 50 years ago) and dutifully made a new cover for it every year because it was a non-standard size and covers to fit could not be bought.

A hysterectomy ! life is just so free and easy now, no more pain,no more "flooding",i can wear white trousers, i can wear a dress or skirt and i can go on holiday and know i can go swimming whenever i like. I begged for 20 years to have this done and even though i was in pain 3 weeks a month and each period could last 2 weeks and have me on the floor in agony and missing work Doctors just glazed over it and told me to take evening primrose oil ! or co-codamol if it was unbearable ( women doctors being the worst). I moved to Scotland saw my new G.P in December who referred me to the womens clinic, had an appointment 6 weeks later, i walked in there ready to fight but before i even got in the door the Lovely Doctor said" you have suffered too much, lets have it all out" and 5 weeks later it was done ! fantastic 1 it is like having a new life.

What are the magic homeopathic pills?

Rather mundane, I'm afraid, but the docs finally found something that worked for my painful bladder syndrome - low dosage, long term antibiotics that immediately relieved the agonising pain that used to make me sit for hours, curled up around a hot water bottle.

More cheerfully, the home education of our two little grandkids is going better than we dared to hope. We started at the end of August. We can see them making progress, they're happy and the constant activities have brought them even closer to us (even though their mum & I are exhausted by evening time!)

This year my Precious son moved back to live near to us after living in Leeds for 9 years. He went there to go to uni and said he was never coming back to London. Then he met a girl from back here and lo and behold he has returned!!

Crozziefan - could you cut down on dairy, that might help with the excess mucus. The homeopathic remedies Overthehill takes might not be appropriate for you: homeopathy treats the whole person, not one symptom. x

Does anyone know of any Lowa shoes that can be worn in the office? Mens leather ones in brown is what we are looking for in a size 14. Yes...I know...like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Looking forward to Christmas 2016 when all my four children, spouses and children will be together at my eldest daughter's home in the country - 4 little ones believing in Father Christmas - who weren't around last time we were all together at Christmas! Waiting for the magic! Cheers

Retirement....although it was not in 2016. Becoming a grandmother for the fifth time. Growing tomatoes successfully in my own garden. Finally having the courage to have the knee operation.

My 2nd DGS being born in January.

Losing 3 1/2 stone in weight. Has improved my mobility, energy and allowed me to drop 2 out of 3 blood pressure tablets. Hope to drop the last one when I have lost a bit more.

overthehill, please can you tell us all which homeopathic pills you got to cure your excessive mucus? They sound to be just what I need.

BarbaraPym - I was diagnosed with a very painful condition (Morton's Neuroma) several years ago and could barely walk. After much trial and error I hit upon Lowa walking shoes and now would wear nothing else on a daily basis. I'm completely free of any foot pain. Hope you find the right ones for you.

Giving up work in June, I'm financially far worse off but the stress levels have plummeted (and my premonitions of dying before I reach 65 and a quarter are fading)
Having time to sort out my garden/visit ancient parents/do what I want to do for the first time in 50 years is priceless!

Retirement !! I was getting so fed up of going to work and all the new ways of doing things and realising that I had been working in offices for over 40 years, so luckily for me, I was able to draw my pension and retire.
It has made such a difference. I have spent whole days re-decorating my living room and it looks great I just have the rest of the house to do now. I am able to see my Grand-children every day after school which means a lot to me, and I am going off to visit friends and family that I have neglected over the years, due to working and using weekends to catch up with housework.
I have many more plans but I'm in no rush - just enjoying the freedom at the moment.

I became a Grandmother for the first time!
He's seven weeks old today and I'm amazed at how quickly I fell head over heels in love with him, it must have taken all of two minutes!

A 25 metre cable reel to put my electric mower on! In stead of connecting up several extensions to get to the bottom of the garden. Too much grass - but I didn't realised just how much this would help!

I passed my driving test earlier this year so freedom of the roads is mine!!!
