Any one with a perfect husband?

I have a lovely husband but he does tend to be "perfect" at times. Usually if I do something wrong I get lots of hindsight about how I could have prevented it happening....I call it " stating the bloody obvious!"

He can even sometimes find a way to blame me for things he does wrong by some sort of twisted logic of his own.

Anyway we have borrowed a hedge trimmer to cut the vast hedges in our temporary house. Yesterday he cut through the wire with some hand shears in his enthusiasm. He now has to buy a new set to return!

Am I right in feeling smug? Also so glad it wasn't me as I may not have heard the end of it.

Does anyone else have a husband who is a a "Perfect Percy"...What my Mum called my Dad.

Ha ha its comes with there dna.Must be all contained in that Y chromosone, that we dont have.My hubby blamed me for a speeding fine he got last year. Not his first. Why was i too blame! Well ive never learnt to drive .As ive been chronically ill for 23 years. BUT it was my fault as wed been to an appointment at my beauty parlour. And were going on to the trafford center straight after. And he wasnt familar with the route from one to the other.Whats even worse was when he told my ds2, all abt it he also said it was my fault. Can you credit that.

There is only room for one perfect person in our marriage and it's me of course. ! !

Tell him where to go! Is my advice. Why should women (or men when the boot's on the other foot)put up with this belittling nonsense? Totally uncalled for.

I don't drive if dh is in the car as I feel like is a learner driver and need advice as to overtaking and parking . Easier to let him drive unless.he has had as few drinks.

My DH is never wrong, always knows best and is the worst back seat driver on earth. If we argue it's my fault, probably because I disagree with his opinion. I wish I had £1 for every time he said 'it's you'. Telling him law of averages says I can't be in the wrong every time falls on deaf ears. I just let it go over my head now because I'm past caring.

Fab quote rubylady - I too will be storing that one up for future use grin

DanniRae Wed 05-Oct-16 08:33:15

Oh rubylady I LOVE that - "I would agree with you, but then we would both be wrong".

I must remember it, we'll see what my husband replied to that!!

rubylady Wed 05-Oct-16 01:17:07

And "Everyone is entitled to an opinion, as long as it is mine!"

rubylady Wed 05-Oct-16 01:16:19

I've no husband but I did say to my DS " I would agree with you, but then we would both be wrong!" grin

Nanna, packing the dishwasher efficiently is definitely a mans position, women are just not wired in the correct way.

Nanna58 Tue 04-Oct-16 19:45:00

Not sure how i survived until my husband retired, let alone the 21yrs before I met him ! Anyway , he is singlehandedly saving the world from drought by re-packing the dishwasher after me every time as i am 'inefficient'!!

Needing to be perfect can be the result of underlying lack of self confidence and anxiety. Many men find the loss of a career quite difficult and try and replace it with self importance. Best to support one another and try and laugh about all the little mistakes- husband just pranged my car and felt terrible, but at least it will get repaired now so it looks perfect again, I pranged it a while ago too so we both accept these things happen.

Cherrytree59 Tue 04-Oct-16 18:45:47

kooklafen I'm married to a supermarket bag packer and when the shopping gets home a fridge and cupboard filler

All since he retired last April.
Before April I'm struggling to remember who did it for the last 35years??
hmm

Lilyflower your reference to 'body every self' brought back to me a silly little ditty that my mother learned from her aunt:

Who the damn Sam think you am?
Think your body every self.
Go and pick on someone your own big enough
And then ajolopise

Sorry, off topic. As you were wink

Maisiejo Tue 04-Oct-16 18:14:56

Downtoearth, I know a few that the badge would suit very well. Oh this has made me laugh!

Maisiejo Tue 04-Oct-16 18:13:01

I have howled out loud at the Pam Ayres poem Gagagran!! My perfect specimen is sitting with me and wants to know what I am laughing at. He is watching the news just to see if his predictions were right!
This post has done me good x

downtoearth Tue 04-Oct-16 16:54:07

My brother is Mr perfect....very opiniated and talks over you ...I just say ..yes and agree with him and be thankful I don't have to live with him.....bought him a badge once saying "everyone is entitled to my opinion"..
My OH is like the character in Harry Enfield sketches...".you don't want to do it like that"
I am always wrong ..till I am proven right...I am magnanimous in my victory...I don't utter a word...CBA...grin

My husband is the perfect procrastinator!

So I get grief for trying to keep deadlines met, etc. In the end, he says to all... nothing would get done without the Mrs.

Not sure whether to feel put upon or complimented. hmm
