Royal visit

I'm with gillybob as the whole Royal thing annoys me, too. There are just too many of them. Having said that, I wouldn't want the Cambridges to do their tour wearing Primark. It's a good thing my youngest DGD isn't in Charlotte's position as she wouldn't be seen dead in a smocked frock.

The childrens clothes are often bought from British manufacturers, often small companies I believe, and sales for them goes through the roof. Good for British business.

Did you mean here in the UK or the Head of the Commonwealth which of course affects Canada? What on earth is the point of that? And what do you mean by "a home grown head of state"?

Yes, I felt the same as you, Bintherdunit14. Those heels, elegant though they were, did worry me. Even without the responsibility of the small children I would be worried.
I'm sure the kids wear "normal" clothes most of the time but there has to be some protocol for such public appearances, even though brief. They were probably dressed just before landing, or whenever it was safe to do so. I didn't think George's clothes looked too prissy anyway.

Forgive me but my criticism isn't aimed at the little boy at all. As a 3 year old he is hardly in the position to choose his clothes. Maybe the wrong thread but the whole "Royal" thing just annoys me .

It is nice work if you can get it. They have got it. Lucky them. They look like a lovely family and are very popular. People like figureheads.

I wonder if any of their most severe critics would give up a job like that?

High heels always make me nervous, binthere, but Kate does seem to wear them most of the time, at least when she's on public view. I'm sure William would have helped if she'd wanted him to. I hope they have a lovely tour of Canada.

Oh dear! I didn't mean my post to develop into a criticism of what the little one was wearing...I think he looked lovely, not exactly an occasion for a peppe pig t.shirt and denims.

I don't think their flight would have been quite as hectic/ uncomfortable as most others. They would hardly have been packed in like sardines with the minimum of leg room . 8 days in Canada, being waited on hand and foot ( I know that's normal for them) a nanny or two to look after the children. Jeez nice "work"

Aw, he's cute as owt. And Katherine has a figure to die for. What I'd give to look like that! I'm sure George knows what a high five is. I suppose it's difficult to summon one up when you're just a tot with jet lag though.

When he was younger get my GS often wore shorts and checked/gingham shirts. No one ever suggested he looked like Christopher Robin. Scruffy denim is not actually de rigueur!

Those children had just had a 10 hour flight and were greeted with a sea of strange faces. He looked tired out to me and at least neither of them burst into tears! I think Prince George was bewildered by it all. He's only three.

I think he has to be dressed like that, else no one would take much notice of them and him. The future king has to be talked about.
