DaphneB That really is tough news regarding your husband's health. Just as you begin to believe that he's slowly on the mend, another obstacle presents itself.

Have been to visit our pal in the care home. He is a good hearted man. He is feeling utterly frustrated with being bedbound and takes out his frustration on one or two members of the staff. Naughty words are hurled in their direction. He's been visited by those members of staff that H's upset, together with the manager. The riot act was read...he feels just a tad contrite (for now) but something tells us that he's simmering inside. An active man. A keen traveller. Suffered two major strokes and ensconced in a bed with safety rails for possibly the remainder of his life. Oh dear!

Happy birthday Bella- sorry to hear that the meal out has been postponed. Quite a few poorly DHs around at present. We always knew that we were the stronger sex!

Tizliz that is typical- I am keeping an eye out for the same reason, it has become very dark all of a sudden. I have washed Tara's quilt which may take more than a day to dry but she does sleep on a single bed with a covered duvet and the quilt normally goes on top, not quite on the floorboards yet. There are two cat beds which she walks past, I doubt if she would recognise their purpose.

Daphne are you off to MK yet again today? The staff will know him well there.

Massive garden! Mine's a small jungle thanks to the defection of yet another gardener.
Off to see family today - by train as I don't drive long distances now. What I save on fuel goes on 1st class tickets, though 1st class isn't what it once was.

76 today. Me, that is ! We were going out for an Italian tonight but husband not feeling well, so probably won't. Had lots of cards so that's nice.
Number, at least you've lost some weight and to be fair you've got lots to think about at the moment. Not sure if I've missed any posts but have you managed to get a care plan in place for your husband.? And how are YOU?

DaphneB, I`m so sorry that your husband is poorly again, it never rains but it pours.
I`ve kept well away from the obesity thread, for fear that I`d weight it down! I CAN be classed as obese, well and truly, but I don`t overeat, honest. 3 years ago, for some unknown reason, I lost my appetite, plus nearly 3 stone, getting down to a size 18 for the first time in YEARS, but it`s slowly crept back on again, I`m now a size 20, but still not as bad as the 22/24 I used to be.

Wot that is one big garden!

Tizliz I don't know. My grandad used to use linseed oil as a painter and decorator. I think flax oil is high in omega 3 but not particularly good for Vitamin D. Not sure too late at night to be bothered now.

Tara needs her annual jab and for 11 and a half months I have been looking at the paperwork but can I find it now? No. Filing is not a strong point and never has been. All help gratefully received.

On yet another thread I was asked rudely what I was doing on GN because I do not have any GC or C for that matter. I did not reply but did feel like it! I am not going anywhere- people can be so rude and hurtful at times. It was not a name I recognised.

annsixty when I broke my ankle in 2009 and had it pinned and plated my count was around 12 whereas it should have been around 70+. I have been on AD Cal D3 since and I am now fine. I was lucky, I had osteopenia and not the full blown osteoporosis.

oh dear *Daphne I was hoping that you would have a few days rest, walking Grace and cuddling her instead of driving to hospitals again. Your poor DH, it is no fun for him feeling lousy for so long.

I think that the thread to which Daphne and roses were alluding should be closed down. So much has been said rather cruelly which has upset so many. The opener or whatever one calls it should not have been allowed.
