Crafting a member of GN thinks that all of us who frequent soop's kitchen are in La La land but I am 300% certain that we are not and we really do care.

N&G the children and Grampy are having a great time. I am assuming that you may be the photographer?

Yes, thank you, crafting. Sister's safely back home and is cutting cake and chocs from her diet! So hopefully her health will improve and she won't get diabetes, etc
Thank you for caring!

Crafting we loved this house from the moment we walked in through the door! So much so that we immediately payed the asking price £35000,!
Yea we were happy here
Think the value has increased a bit since 1978!

Really lovely blankets!

Crafting Mon 03-Oct-16 18:51:47

Your daughter has done some lovely quilts Lona the parents must be very pleased with such special gifts.

Crafting Mon 03-Oct-16 18:50:45

number been thinking of you a lot today. There are some who "mock" our posts in this virtual world of GN but I believe it is possible to think of the pain of others that you do not personally know and feel for their suffering. I think there are a number of people who really care in the kitchen, and you and David are in our thoughts flowers

Lona Mon 03-Oct-16 18:26:04

Thank you all xx

Charleygirl Mon 03-Oct-16 18:24:19

soop would you like me to give you a date for Bracken's move?!!!!! She has all four paws firmly under the table.

Lona Alessia is a beautiful name. I do hope that your GD's business is up and running soon- as I said before, those quilts are beautifully made.

numberplease flowers for yourself and David.

Bellanonna Mon 03-Oct-16 18:16:03

ann. It makes number's husband more "real" and I'm glad of that.

annsixty Mon 03-Oct-16 18:03:36

We can only imagine what it will do for your D's self esteem and confidence if she gets a business off the ground Lona all best wishes to her. The quilts are lovely.

I wandered into the sitting room to discover Rory asleep in the reclining chair and Bracken sitting on the sofa! She didn't stay for very long. Both now on their rug, just inside the utility room door. grin

Tomorrow is Care Home visiting day. I've some snazzy bed socks for M. Today is her 93rd birthday. We inadvertently celebrated her 95th last year. Somewhat confusing. However...smile

Log-off time.

Sending special love to number and David. moon

Lona Your daughter has an enviable gift. Her quilts are beautiful. I hope that she will derive a great deal of satisfaction from her craft. She deserves to do well. smile

soop Mon 03-Oct-16 16:50:35

annsixty I feel as you and many others do. Number is on my mind throughout the day.

anno Bakewell tart, eh? hmm just a wee slice if there's any left over.
The electric car sounds fun.
I'm also intrigued by the number of females who think nothing of doing a full face-paint on public transport. The only time I've seen such a thing is during long coach or train journeys. I might put a dash of lipstick on in public, nothing more.

Lona Mon 03-Oct-16 16:41:06

ann I know what you mean and no, you aren't being soft. Virtual becomes reality sad
Charley Alessia is the new baby of a girl who works with my daughter.
My dd is such a kind, gentle person, I really hope this turns into something good for her.

Arrived for a weekend with the Sandhurst family to a lovely aroma of baking. GD (14) had baked a delicious Bakewell tart. She'd never made pastry before and it was perfect. DS1 and I went to see DS2 and family at Didcot yesterday. DS2 is buying an electric car and is driving one on loan from the dealer pending the arrival of his chosen model. It's like being aboard a milk float - not that I ever have been! His older son (11) seems to have the makings of a petrol head and despises the new vehicle! DiL spent a lot of time marking and doing school admin. She's now deputy head in a large comprehensive.
Strange thing on Sandhurst station platform this morning - a young woman, sitting crosslegged, making a thorough job of her make-up. I prefer to 'do my face' somewhere warm. It's a lot colder at home than when I left on Friday morning and the over-active air-con on the train didn't help.

Beautiful quilts lona, they also seem to help sleep smile. ann I know what you mean and no, you aren't being soft.

Charleygirl Mon 03-Oct-16 15:49:47

Lona I did like those beautifully made quilts. Who is the little mite in the last photo?

annsixty Mon 03-Oct-16 15:44:37

Is anyone else as affected as I am by knowing numbers husband's name? To think of him now as David makes their sad situation so very poignant. Am I being soft?
