I'm so sad to hear that Bellasnana's dear sister has died. At least she was able to spend some quality time with her this summer, and say goodbye, but how very sad. For one person to lose so many loved family members is heartbreaking. flowers

wobbly how disappointing for you. I wouldn't wait too long before returning to the doctor and explaining that the pain is much much worse! He can hardly refuse to refer you then.

corner repeat after me ........... dust is my friend, dust is my friend wink

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 19:45:56

Oh dear Bellasnana flowers I am so sorry for your loss, you have had such a hard time of it lately. It is so good that you managed to spend some time with your sister last summer.
Condolences to you and your family

Wobblybits Tue 11-Oct-16 19:14:07

Thanks for your concern, I'm OK. I was sure that the Dr would refer me for a new hip. However the x=ray result was not positive enough to fulfill the requirements, despite the pain. He has sent me for physio and given me stronger pain killers. He said that if this didn't help, he would refer me regardless (I didn't get the impression that he held out much ope, but had to go this route before he could refer me). The physio team rang me today and should be coming back with an appointment in a few days. I suspect this is just putting off the inevitable, but I'll have to give it a go.

Sorry that you are feeling well below par, Wobblybits

When I returned home from the care home, a surprise package was waiting to be opened...a lovely Gransnetter has sent me a CD - 'The Lost Songs of St Kilda'
On the sleeve it reads...'These are the Lost Songs of St Kilda discovered in a Scottish care home, handed down through generations of St Kildans. Saved from the edge of extinction and now available for the first time for the world to hear.'
MacSporran and I are looking forward to listening to the music. I shall report back tomorrow. moon

flowers to you both. xxx
I was out all day yesterday and did not catch up with the Kitchen.

Judthepud2 Tue 11-Oct-16 16:40:26

Oh dear. The kitchen is rather a sad place at the moment. First number's David and now the sister of Bellasnana ? So sorry she is having to deal with another close loss. Please send her my condolences soop.

You are sounding miserable too Wobbly. It is horribly frustrating being in pain and movement restricted. Thinking about you too.

Off to struggle with the DGS homework ?

Wobbly where do you go now? Sorry to hear that it is not quite what you wanted to hear.

cornergran Tue 11-Oct-16 15:36:44

So sorry for your loss, Bellasnana, a sad time for you.

Oh dear wobbly, that's so frustrating, can understand you are disappointed.

Sounds an interesting morning, soop, mine was devoted to my ever losing battle against dust, the builders have left a lasting legacy I think. Off hospital visiting tomorrow, friends calling Thursday so it will be Friday before we can get back to our 'extra bit', patience wearing thin now each time I bump something that hurts on furniture that isn't where it should be. Nothing compared to others' issues, not meaning, just saying! smile.

The Care Home ladies were in good form this morning. M remarked that "there are far too many people in this room..." She is also convinced that the room is not the same room that she was in yesterday (and for several years besides.) She also wishes to share a secret with me. C says..."she'll tell you when she's ready..." W winked. After an hour, I was none the wiser. Although M stresses that she'll report something or other to the Church of Scotland. After a scone (that was shared around) in spite of every resident having one, and a brew things quietened down. We were then treated to the Tuesday fire drill. smile

dustyangel Tue 11-Oct-16 14:37:30

So sorry Bellasnana. flowers

mrshat Tue 11-Oct-16 14:28:22

DaphneBroon Tue 11-Oct-16 13:43:04

flowers for Bellasnana - you have been through so much sorrow recently.
So much sadness in the world.

soop Tue 11-Oct-16 13:15:40

Dear number DaphneB has expressed the feelings of many Granspals. It is time for you to find some peace and I hope that you are being well looked after.

I have a sad message to convey on behalf of Bellasnana. Her dear sister died yesterday afternoon. She had been ill with Cancer for some time. Bellasnana visited her sister during the summer. They spent some happy and precious time in each other's company. As most of us lot are aware, Bellasnana's lovely husband died with Cancer in May 2015.
When she feels able, she will come into the kitchen. In the meantime, let us hope that she will have the support she needs to get over yet another family loss. flowers

DaphneBroon Tue 11-Oct-16 12:04:18

annsixty it is lovely that you sound so upbeat - long may it continue! Commiserations to wb I understand your frustration and can only sympathise.
number a person can alsk for little more at the end than a quiet passing surrounded by those he loved and who loved him. I can understand Lynne's reluctance though as it is something hard to envisage and a person might be afraid of bad memories or even "letting the side down". However, my sister and I were with our father at the end and it was so peaceful and felt so right to be present to say goodbye to the person who had given us life and it was not actually distressing at all.
Any images of the moment have been overlaid by happier memories and mental pictures of him at different stages in our lives.
This is a hard time for you all so I hope that your friends are rallying round and that when the time comes you will be able to celebrate David's life with an uplifting "send off"
Like doesn't get easier does it? flowers

annsixty Tue 11-Oct-16 11:46:00

Does that mean you have to suffer for longer wb if so you have my sympathy. I can't believe just how good I feel after 9 weeks.
Off out to lunch as my S is here gardening and will look after H.

Wobblybits Tue 11-Oct-16 11:39:19

Can't moan too much, there are too many worse off than me, but I saw the Dr this morning and did not get the result I was hoping for with my hip -- P...d off.

oldgoat Tue 11-Oct-16 11:20:45

So pleased for you number that you and your family were able to be with David at the end. Thank you for your comments about Muasdale. You will have many memories of the happy times you spent together.

millymouge Tue 11-Oct-16 10:58:18

Thinking of you number. So glad that your dear David had a peaceful passing with his family with him. Now you must let your family take care of you.

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 10:53:20
