Charley yes I was photographer in chief ! My camera club competition this month has the theme of ' out and about ' so I have high hopes for this week!

Daphne your hot tub comment made my little grandson laugh and he is currently testing that theory in the hot tub at 08:25 !! He is a braver soul than me as it is chilling this morning . He stuck his head in and asked me to tell you he thinks that a lot of beans might be needed to make this test work . Its funny how any mention of bodily functions make boys laugh !

We are taking them all off for a lovely breakfast shortly so hope you are all enjoying a much quieter start to the day than me

Daphne I think you know who I meant without mentioning any names. She pops into the kitchen now and again, makes disparaging remarks and then vanishes for a few weeks.

Tara has decided that the new chair in my bedroom makes yet another ideal bed for her when I become restless during the night. A good job that there is a washable throw over it.

Thank you dear bags for notifying that lot of my computer buggeration. I had just logged on to Facebook and, lo and behold, the bloody amber light started flashing. I swore! A lot...
MacSporran tiddled with stuff and proclaimed that it wasn't a fault with our 'puter. Nice one! I muttered through clenched teeth.
Anyways...here I am ready and willing to catch up with all the happenings since I logged off last night.

NanaandGrampy I too would very much like to buy a bottle of your super-sonic energy. The boys appear to be having the best fun ever. And yes, naughty words really do appeal to little boys in particular.

This morning's hour spent talking with three ladies - all eager to reminisce on different subjects, was for me, a little confusing. Dear K believes that her husband, who died many years ago, is preparing to collect her. Together they're to travel to some place in England. She forgets the location. She wonders which cardigan to pack. She is eager to watch the clock (she wants to be ready to leave promptly.) The blessing is, she's "looking forward" and not back...

Well, yes, that's probably positive soop. During my husband's recent admission he was in a bay (one used as a temporary measure straight from A&E) where there were three men with dementia. The one opposite kept talking to "someone" invisible beside him, using lots of gesticulations as well. Diagonally opposite was a patient who kept attacking the nurse. He was lashing out quite energetically with his arms, and at times it took two to control him. The third man beside him slept most of the time and appeared ro be quite ill. .i thought the nurse tending the lively one was wonderful. She never got cross but it must have been a real struggle. It must be quite interesting visiting your patients as you obviously know them well by now. It brings a little pleasure into their lives and I'm sure they love chatting with you.
Glad the broadband is sorted now. Its good you have bags to let us know when things go wrong as we would otherwise all be very concerned !

In between energetic bursts I do become a sloth ?

Tonight is chilli night , this is how the conversation went.

SIL : are there onions ( he's cooking)
Me: ummmm one onion .
SIL: is there oil?
Me: no , I didn't think of that.
SIL: butter?
Me: I forgot it.
SIL : where is the mince?

10 mins of searching later it was ascertained there was NO mince.

Cue 15 min drive to nearest supermarket to get everything I forgot !!

I don't see what the fuss was about...we did have microwave popcorn and a full cheeseboard ?

One of the highlights of my weekend, which I forgot to mention was that my DS1 made two very fine fougasses with rosemary which I think would have passed muster with Paul Hollywood. We took one to DS2 and ate it with his tomato soup. I'm so lucky to have sons who can cook and bake.

Youve kept me smiling n&g, those photos are great, were there sufficient beans with breakfast to allow for some hot tub experimentation? The way our two granddaughters laugh in their hot tub (lucky little souls have one in their garden) I think they may have experimented themselves . There was I thinking they were just happy

Aren't computers the most infuriating things? Drive me to distraction. It's a machine, I expect machines to work, no dispensation because it's a computer! soop, your ladies must so look forward to your visits. We're off hospital visiting tomorrow, a dear friend has had a horrid accident, we saw her Saturday and will go back tomorrow, long old journey but better than fretting because we haven't seen her. Her hospital stay will be lengthy apparently, once she is more stable we will go weekly, more frequently until then. This has reminded me how life can change in a second and how important it is not to put good things off until tomorrow. I feel some expenditure coming on .

Been thinking about number and David. Have I missed some news? Sending good wishes to all poorly people. Take care all.

I also have been thinking about how life is so short and capable of change. A friend of mine got home from holiday 10 days ago and an hour later was in hospital having had a minor stroke. She is home now and I went to see her this afternoon. She is a shadow of herself and living in fear of having another more serious one. I wonder if she will get her confidence back.

Oh, ann, isn't it scary? Hope your friend recovers well and can be helped to reclaim her confidence.

Bellanonna Dementia is the cruelest of afflictions. A few of the ladies are belligerent and make a huge fuss if their routine is out of kilter (such as someone sits in the chair that they call their own) or a table is not quite where it should be. Others live in a haze or maze of memories. Some of which they cherish.

I`m sorry I didn`t get on here last night, I fell asleep! By the time I get home and get the tea ready it`s nearly 9.30pm, my housework is falling severely behind. David is pretty much the same, but thankfully the tube through his nose has been re-inserted, it came out on Saturday afternoon, and as it was what was stopping him vomiting, we thought they`d replace it immediately, but it was yesterday teatime before they did, after yet another bout of sickness. He wasn`t too good on Sunday, we didn`t expect him to be there the following day, his eyes kept rolling up, he couldn`t focus, and couldn`t find his mouth to have a drink, plus his voice had disappeared. But by Monday he`d perked up a little, and things were much the same today. We are hoping for a meeting with Macmillan nurses tomorrow.
Thank you all for caring, and sympathies to all those with poorly spouses or friends, I`m not very good with words I`m afraid.

PS Lona, those blankets are lovely, pity I don`t have a baby to buy for!

Sleep is much more important for you number, so thank you for updating tonight. Take care of you, the housework doesn't matter! I get anxious about causing distress here and then choose to say nothing. This virtual,world has its pitfalls. It must be so hard to see your David struggle. I hope the Macmillan nurses can offer practical help to make him more comfortable. Wishing you strength, and space to care for yourself along with hugs. Thinking of you both with love.

Been thinking about you and David so much, number, and have been reading 'Soop's thread' frequently during the day to see if you've logged on for a wee catch up. I didn't want to bother you with emails as you've got enough to be doing and thinking about just now. You'll know though, that my other half and I are sending love and caring thoughts to you and David. You will be absolutely exhausted. Housework isn't important. Not at all. Take the greatest of care of yourself, my dear. Xx

Lona, your daughter's blankets are fabulous. I hope they are successful. Does she go to craft fayres etc? DD3 took her dummy cakes to wedding exhibitions and got snowed under with orders. It really helped her while she was recovering from the Idiot.
