Anybody else glad it's Autumn?

I love every season and do enjoy Autumn, as OPs have said, mists and mellow fruitfulness and all that!
DH is a keen gardener and doesn't like it so much-he loves the spring with all the new colours (he's an artist too!).
I HATE the spiders coming in. Fortunately DH knows he's on spider patrol and has to go upstairs ahead of me at night.
I, too, hate all the commercialism around Christmas. We're Christians and love celebrating Christ's birth but everything else-no thanks!

Some parts of Autumn are nice, the leaves changing colour, the earth smells different, but on the whole I don't like it because for one thing THEY, the eight legged monsters sneak in, also the nights are pulling in fast, and I so hate that. Then the long lead up to Christmas which is a non event for me anyway. I actually like January and february better. I know it can be very cold, but we are going the right way and the nights gradually pull out a bit, and also we can look forward to those first snowdrops, love that.

I've just got a pair of pumpkin orange Hotter shoes which I hope will make autumn seem a bit less depressing.

If you go onto the Hotter website and request a catalogue you get sent all sort of offers. The code I used was GPESUN or GPDSTB but they may have expired now. They do seem to offer first time buyers 30% off. And, if there's a delivery charge it's cheaper to collect 'in store'. Some of the boots are wide fit. I bought the standard ones at first but took them back and exchanged them for wider fit and they are more comfortable [for me anyway]. Someone in the shop said that she'd worn hers all last winter and they were incredibly comfortable. They're not as waterproof as some boots though, being quite a thin suede; something I hadn't thought of. I'm also on a voucher code email list that sends all sorts of discounts.

We've had our best weather of the year this month so we're enjoying it and pretending it's still summer. It's also my birthday this week, which helps.

Tegan I've got those pixie boots too, in cranberry. They rubbed my delicate feet a bit but I hope they'll be okay from now on.

I have had 2 pairs of Hotter Pixie boots and yes, they are very comfortable - but only ONCE you get them on. With high insteps and wide feet I found them a real struggle. If only they had zips

Lots of family and friends birthdays in September seems to extend summer. I like Autumn, the colours on the trees, but don't like winter, ice or snow!

More of a Thomas Hardy day here today - bloody miserable.

Just got to accept winter, although I wish it wouldn't linger as long as it does. The awakening of Spring is a wonder every year to me.

Definitely a Keats sort of day today, which I love. Walking the dog, not a breath of wind, leaves beginning to fall, wood smoke from the scout hut, berries gleaming in the hedges and old mans beard, conkers and cows mooching around their field.

Just took some cashmere sweaters out of their storage box and they smell horribly of Lakeland moth stop. It's supposed to smell of lavender [which is bad enough] but it's quite sickly smelling. On the plus side I've bought some Hotter pixie boots that are so comfortable, even with my mutant feet, and can't wait to wear them. I do want an Indian Summer though as I'm off to Northumberland next week and want poorly dog to have lots of nice walks on the beach.

I love winter clothes and boots too. Not keen on summer clothes at my age, I need to cover up! I love the sun though.

I love my winter clothes and boots! Also, only need to wash jumpers and no ironing. On the other hand, hate the gloom (especially in my dark cottage) . Glad also the feeding I should be getting a tan as I can't stand just sitting around in the sun. Not looking forward to the coal fires and expense though and Christmas is always a terrible let down.

Testing my enthusiasm however, it has rained non-stop since lunchtime

I like autumn - looking forward to November: birthday is Guy Fawkes Day - bonfires and fireworks - I love them! There are loads of family birthdays during December but best of all is Christmas when I can be with my family.As Shelley wrote: 'If winter comes can spring be far behind?'
