Things you don't throw out.

Mugs which I received as gifts over the years , never use them but they were gifts

The lids to pyrex dishes that were a wedding present coming up to fifty years ago. Their dishes are long gone. Still got some of the dishes though, but never use the matching lid.

I also have a collection of plastic takeaway containers. They are really useful, especially when I have cooked chilis, bolognese etc and there are two/ three meals worth. But, in a kitchen drawer I have still got the piece of coal and some salt in a paper screw, that Mum gave us when we moved into our first home together. (Emerald anniversary was this Sept) It was an old fashioned token and something to do with never being cold or hungry? Perhaps someone remembers these things.

I too have loads of plastic containers drives OH bonkers as they invariably slide out if he opens the door.
Also have a collection of those rubber measure thingys out of the liquid detergent bottles they are good for nothing but I save them for the pretty colours .

I find it very difficult to get rid of clothes and it can take me years but once I decide, it goes only for me to want to wear it a couple of weeks later
