Sounded good till that last sentance cazzajen I prefer to deter them if I can I don't like killing them.

it does deter them but it's possible that there are some already in your house from before you did the treatment, if that makes any sense?

I don't like spiders. I do not like the way they walk, I do not like the cobwebs but most of all THEY BITE. Yes they really do. My DIL is witness to that as is my husband. One was bitten on the foot which swelled to twice the size, the other ended up in hospital when his arm swelled right up to the elbow.

We bought something off the internet that wasn't too expensive it is called 'No More Spiders'. What it does is the same as cazzajen's it prevents rather than kills. We found it very good and haven't had hardly any hairy monsters in the house.

Actually they don't like lavender or lime and lemon, so if you want something natural wipe this around your windows and doors. Cut a lemon or lime in half and just rub where you want it. Get one of those lavender oil bottles from garden centres and do the same. Spiders will keep a wide berth.

If I find them in the bath and they will not go down the plughole I have been known to spray the with flash! It works, but it also kills them.

This sounds like an advert from a company to me!

Why kill.s spiders, they kill flies which are horrible?. I like spiders My son is terrified of them still. Will.scream for them.to go!!!

If you want to live and thrive, let a spider run alive.

You should see the specimen I found when I cleaned the conservatory ( shudder) it got biffed pdq.

They get short shrift from me, too! Horrible, scuttly things...

My son-in-law has a serious spider phobia. I thought my daughter and I were bad enough,until she met him. He puts us in the shade. He actually starts hyper-ventilating if he sees one. They don't have to be particularly large either,ones that don't really bother me that much bring him out in a sweat. And to cap it all,when he was at work a couple of years ago,he thinks he was bitten by one. He felt a sharp,pricking sensation on his back. A minute later,a spider,not very big,dropped onto the floor and scuttled off. That evening,his skin felt sore on his back. On inspection,he found his back had 2 little 'pincer' type marks and was rather red. Of course,this just further compounded his fear and loathing of them!

I was vilified for this. What a difference a year makes!

You can get a humane spider catcher from Amazon which is a long clear tube with a little vacuum which gently sucks the spider up into a long tube and you can safely release it outside. Costs about £10.
