BBBevan, I feel for you. At Easter I put three rings, one inherited from my mother and of deep sentimental value, on the side in the kitchen, but not the usual place because DGC were staying and DGD does love my pretty things. i hid them in something. Two hours later I couldn't remember where, I know, bad sign. I have turned the kitchen upside down, emptied every container, cleaned out every cupboard and drawer with no success. Several family members have searched both probable and improbable places and I am beginning to wonder whether they could caught up with some rubbish and thrown away.

I keep hoping they will re-appear.

We are in the process of packing up our house prior to moving. We have been here 41 years. On the day we moved in I think I lost my engagement ring. Wouldn't it be lovely if we had an undisturbed draw like yoursKitty and I found it at the bottom?

Kitty, did you find anything you have been searching 24 years for ?

After a Bank Holiday I always have loads of phone calls to do for DH. The business phone is in the hall on a really old knee hole desk that we have had all our married lives (I can't actually remember where we acquired it). This morning I was waiting for a few phone calls back so decided that I would sort out the desk drawers while I was waiting.

There is one drawer where we store maps, another where we store receipts, another 3 that are business related, another which has a tangle of cables for phones etc (I closed that one quickly!), one with old diaries, which we keep for reference (though I'm not sure we need them back to 1998!) and one 'dumping drawer'.

I decided to tackle the 'dumping drawer' and, right at the bottom, I found 6 cassette tapes (7 Brides for 7 Brothers, Meat Loaf and Perry Como among them) two fountain pens plus cartridges, 2 set squares plus a bag full of sticky labels with the address of our last house on.

We moved here almost 24 years ago! blush
