Other than that, what would people like to chat about? I so miss the GN Olympics thread, that was so lighthearted. Now we seem to be back to bad tempered, bad-mouthing of others and intolerance of other viewpoints in posts.

Come on peeps, let's have a bit of humour back!

Hmm....I see ann and cherry as Al-Ka-pone and Al-Ca-Traz, dealers in fine used camels. The sand dance (as ably portrayed by Wilson Kepoel and Betty) wouid be their big scene. Get practicing girls!!

Cherrytree59 Fri 26-Aug-16 18:37:52

Elegran sounds good
As it happens I have 2 ginger pussys who will do most things for tin bit of tuna
so are we on for the audition ann ??
Thanks also my 'good luck'

annsixty Fri 26-Aug-16 18:11:49

I always knew I would find my theatrical niche one day. Good luck Cherrytree .

Elegran Fri 26-Aug-16 17:59:01

You could do the Disabled Pirate pas de deux together. Peg-legs, crutches and parrots/cats on shoulders. You might have to tie the cats on in case they object to the dancing and make an early exit.

Cherrytree59 Fri 26-Aug-16 17:52:35

ann any tips would be great,
In September I will be a fellow hobbler
Do you think we could be a Double act? grin.

annsixty Fri 26-Aug-16 17:35:53

Excuse me Cherrytree I am already on crutches so I demand first dibs on the pirate. I will teach you to use them though as I am now pretty nifty

NanaandGrampy Fri 26-Aug-16 17:14:36

I think I could be an admirable pumpkin...... I'm the right shape!

millymouge Fri 26-Aug-16 17:09:56

I could help, making the costumes. Happy to sort the fellows tights, nobody wants wrinkled tights and Dandini always wears tights.

BBbevan Fri 26-Aug-16 17:03:49

I'm quite good at drawing. I could paint the sets , and help with the costumes ?
I would hate to be on stage though.

Cherrytree59 Fri 26-Aug-16 16:58:16

Jing what part in Panto do you fancy?
Your name suggests tis your favourite time of year.
And you have your frock prepared.
Although not sure it would be allowed if you are auditioning for principle boy. confused

Elegran Fri 26-Aug-16 16:37:46

Princess: (perking up a bit) You mean that Paul, the one from Hollywood? Do you think he knows any film directors who are looking for talent?

Prince: They wouldn't want you sis, they are not shooting The Thing this year. They are looking for ones with figures like your pal SizeSixAndaHalf.

Queen: That reminds me dear, were the girls OK after the Coronation banquet the other night?

Prince: OK? They were excellent! . . . er, that is, yes mother, they recovered once they had left the banqueting hall.

Dandini: (aside) I haven't recovered yet.

Charleygirl Fri 26-Aug-16 16:27:17

jingl if you find it all so boring why do you add snide comments?

NanKate Fri 26-Aug-16 16:26:48

Thanks to those who said they enjoyed the GN Olympics. When I posted the thread I thought a dozen or so would respond and in the end we had over 500 comments shock. I laughed so much at the clever, quirky and funny comments and ideas you all came up with.

I am fully up for the Panto as long as I can wear bright coloured clothes, sing Bob the Builder at least twice and have NO words to learn.

When are the (can't remember the flippin word for trying for a part) no wonder I want a non speaking part.

Cherrytree59 Fri 26-Aug-16 16:18:51

Greyduster I have a very nice wooden toadstool that needs a bit of red paint an some white spots.
Yours for the use of...

Katek Fri 26-Aug-16 16:09:39

King: ..... but my dear, the sausages were made from grass fed organically raised cattle from our estate in Cornwall!

Princess: I don't care where they came from, I'm not eating them!

Queen: There, there my dear, don't fret. You can enjoy a nice piece of drizzle cake made by the new head baker instead.

(Enter the Prince, closely followed by a rather dishevelled Dandini.)

Elegran Fri 26-Aug-16 14:01:36

Princess Fussyboots: Eeurgh! Sausages! Made from dead animals! When are we going to fire that cook and get a proper chef who will make us scrumptious brown rice and nut roasts? None of my friends eats dead animals, they would rather starve!

Queen: You mean Princess SizeSixAndaHalf and Duchess TurnHerSidewaysAndMarkHerAbsent? I thought they were starving themselves anyway. All they ate at the Coronation banquet were rocket leaves and champagne. No wonder they had to be carried out fainting by Prince HandsomeIsAsHandsome Does and his pal Dandini. We didn't see the four of them again that evening, I didn't think they would be that long taking the girls home. They must have been delayed in traffic.

Katek Fri 26-Aug-16 12:41:02

King: Come my dear, our wedding banquet awaits. I must say the sausages on sticks looked simply delicious......

Greyduster Fri 26-Aug-16 10:24:18

If you need a fishing gnome to sit on a toadstool beside a magic pool (fountain of youth? I wish!) somewhere, I am vertically challenged and have own fishing rod (but not toadstool!)

Cherrytree59 Fri 26-Aug-16 10:10:46

Would like to prevent a Pedant alert
On my above post and change 'Could' to 'would' blush

Please carry on
as you were...

Jayh Fri 26-Aug-16 10:06:08

I have previous with pantos. I was once a principal boy (oh yes I was!). If you need any thigh slapping done I am your Gran. Please, please can I have a part? I have my own support tights.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 26-Aug-16 10:05:23

I hope you all enjoy your little bit of boring harmless self pleasuring amusement.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 26-Aug-16 10:03:50

Quoting Ilrina: "I noticed very swiftly though that there are a few posters on here who show great intolerance. It doesn't matter what the subject is( And it is always the same people)"

But, we would so miss 'em if they weren't here! grin

Cherrytree59 Fri 26-Aug-16 09:57:36

grin Like it like it. KateK

If I grovel ask nicely could you write just a teeny weeny part for a gran on crutches with a parrot/cat on her shoulder?
charleygirl has confirmed that although very small budget is available, there maybe enough for an eye patch
I quite understand that this money may be required for the queens bloomers crown,
So if need be I can provide my own props.

Also very willing to provide a wiping brow service whilst you and others scribble away with Panto verse.
wink

NonnaW Fri 26-Aug-16 09:06:38

Looks like the panto is getting underway. Do you think we need a dedicated thread for it?
