This morning, I didn't know whether to.........(ooooo, do you know what its about yet?)

Whenever we have visitors hubby tells all our neighbours
he's got rid of all the cobwebs!

I agree with the majority, the blessing of a beautiful day with gorgeous sunshine is such a rare thing, to hell with the housework, get outside and enjoy while you can!!!! I have my DGD with me at the moment we spent Monday in the park, the local cornfields and the little woods near the park, she loved it. When we got home we played hop scotch in the garden, watered the plants in the greenhouse and put the sprinkler on to deal with the veggie patch and rest of the garden, any excuse to be outside. Yesterday we were at the local outdoor pool with my sister and niece all day with a picnic and ice creams it was fabulous. We are both rosy with sun and the sense of well being of having had such a wonderful time in the fresh air. There will be time to clear the house when i return her home.

We usually know when it's autumn, as 'George' comes out and suddenly appears on the carpet. ( George, is our resident largehairy spider). Haven't seen him yet though.

I regretfully evicted a huge spider from my bathmat last night. Out the window it went. I wouldn't want to have stood on it.

My house spiders are currently doing a wonderful job catching all the annoying flies coming in from the fields. So, I'll leave them to it

I'm very proud of my bedroom spiders webs. Luckily my best friend who looks after and lives with me feels the same, so we are actually in competition with each other as to who has the largest!

Someone had moved the coir mat half off the outdoor step. Over a week or three ago and I kept thinking bend down and move it back. So eventually I did. In the space was a very large black toad. No idea where it came from or was aiming for. I Went inside and thought for a while. Not very fond of toads. Don't know how princesses kiss them. They must be desperate.

Had a good clean up of the bathroom and kitchen Monday. Nice spider in the bathroom but he had to go, grandaughter don't like spiders.

I've just lifted the bowl out of the utility room sink to find a huge spider under it so maybe time to get started on the cleaning here too. I did lift it out and throw it out the back door but it must have had a shock when the hot water hit it!

I love that poem Lisalou - very true. Don't waste our lives worrying about dust and spiders - I have dozens of them all over the house - all shapes and sizes - some lucky ones - a huge one crawled out of the logs by the fire , across the floor in front of me and disappeared under the sofa the other day. Am I bovvered ? No way. He will be getting rid of the flies. Anyway cleaning is to be done in Spring isn't it? when You pull everything out and Hoover up all the dead spiders and flies!! Haha !!

My feeling is this...

It is my excuse for being very un-domesticated

We got back this morning from returning our DD's dogs to her after looking after them for the last three weeks. The house is be-doghaired, wet-nose marked, dusty and in need of a good clean, but the sun was shining and there was a nice breeze - so we went sailing.

Looked after my DGS all last week so no housework done as he needs full-on attention. We went out every day - swimming, city farm, adventure playground, river-side walk and picnic, even shopping as although he's six he loves being pushed round in a trolley but being six is a bit heavy to lift in and out! The weekend saw me shattered but I'd enjoyed all the time with him. Still more looking after to be done but dad had him today so I'd told myself I would have a good clean through before DGS is back again tomorrow. That was before I saw the sunshine this morning ... As Mumsy said, it may not be there tomorrow, whereas the dust will wait for another day

I did a mini spring clean (well bossed hubby around), so job was nicely finished for 11 am, been in garden or patio rest of day and for a short walk, dipped into house now and again for a cool down, I wasn't going to waste the sunshine either. I agree, house work can be done when the sun aint shining!

Well now, there were cobwebs behind a big armchair the other day - they are probably still there, gathering more.

I had a choice today housework or sunshine, yup sunshine won, well it may not be there tomorrow.
