The care home ladies were entertained with songs such as...'Rock Around the Clock' - Heartbreak Hotel' and 'Let's Twist Again'. A member of the staff joined me in the music making and then gave a solo performance of the twist. She was so supple. Loud applause all round.

I'm going back to the portrait for a short time. I feel more positive right now. Later this afternoon we'll be attending the service of our friend who died just over a week ago.

We had to get up far too early ( I do hate that alarm clock now we've retired lol). My daughter had to take Jackson to school and stay to her first PTA meeting so we went over to pick up Cooper and take him to pre school. He looks so tiny walking in with Grampy , but no tears !! ( Not even from Grampy).

So its all change in our lives once again. We will now be collecting Cooper every Wednesday afternoon for swimming . Then Jackson moves to Friday after school , when we'll pick him up for swimming. So we'll get double the work out

Our other 2 grandchildren popped in yesterday . It was Stevie's 7th birthday the day before and he had been on a shopping spree. He loves to dress up and had selected a Ninja costume amongst other things but shock horror it did NOT come with nun chucks !

Every self respecting ninja must have them apparently so Nana to the rescue ( assisted by Amazon) and nun chucks are winging their way here as we speak.

I presume your hubby has had a drip during the fifteen days so that he is getting sustenance of some sort, number. Hope so anyway.

Minibags and I came home to a smoky kitchen yesterday. I had to go round the loch and collect her from school because she stayed late for what I think the school calls "assisted study". She has an exam on Thursday. Anyway, anyway... because I didn't want dinner to be too late I turned the oven on before I left so that food to be cooked could go straight in when we got back, only I forgot that I'd left a wooden salad bowl in there from the previous day! I had given the salad bowl a really good scrub because when I took it out of the cupboard it was a bit mouldy inside and then I'd left it in the still warm oven from that day's cooking to dry off properly. Oops! We now have a well scorched salad bowl. I think it might become bonfire fuel.

Currently living up to my name and sitting in a corner rocking. The plasterers are having a major strop because they weren't briefed properly by the overall project manager who has taken responsibility so not really our problem - except it is........
This will be worth it, it will, it will......................

You were awake late, number. Hope you've got some sleep. I think I'd be more than grumpy if I had to wait as long as your husband. So fortunate he has you and the family to fight his corner. 15 days is a heck of a long while!

I'm just awake early. No idea why. Nothing wrong. Will be doing my own version of grumpy later . Our home seems to be full of odd smells from the building work. Some not so pleasant! Hoping for a dry day so we can have all the windows open. the worst of the work should soon be over then we need to dry out so can soon relax a bit until the next stage. I guess I could get up and begin the day, but suspect I won't .

What company is it Galen? Acorn guarantee to attend within 24 hours, but the only time they didn`t get here on the same day was on a bank holiday.

Soop, I hope you`re a bit less befuddled by now?

Hubby seemed a little better tonight, but very disgruntled at not having his "food" supply up yet. The took him to theatre on Friday night to put the line in for it, and he was told he`d have it on Monday. When we got there tonight it still wasn`t up, so Rena asked to speak to someone about it. A few minutes later the ward sister came to tell us that it was on the ward, ready to be put up, and that she`d do it as soon as she had 5 minutes. That was at 6.30pm, we left at 8.10pm and still no sign, and there`d been a shift change by then, so Rena asked again, and was told he`d definitely have it up tonight, so if it`s still not up when our David arrives tomorrow afternoon, he`ll be spitting feathers! Hubby hasn`t eaten for 15 days!

Thats better news Galen - hope the motorway co-operates. At least you will be sure to get downstairs in the morning. Maybe a formal complaint? Think I would.

Oh soop, how can you not behave after seeing those images? Take it easy, you know all the advice you give us all, time to take your own advice by the sound of it. I am sure the funeral tomorrow is weighing on you - the ironing can wait! Unless you really have run out of clothes and would be a little chilly in the morning

The rain has driven me back indoors to the fumes, anyone got a gas mask handy?

My long response has failed to upload. It's almost the last straw. I've achieved a big, fat zero since I rose from my bed.

DaphneB Not an infection. A watercolour that keeps going horribly wrong. However, I shall persevere. It's what we do.

Off to wash the lunchtime dishes. Ironing will have to wait until I'm in a more optimistic mood.

I shall pop into the kitchen inbetween the care home visit and the afternoon funeral.

Big companies use software that scan the internet for their name, so any adverse comments will get picked up. Our son used this technique when he had problems with a major power company that messed up his central heating installation, he got it stripped out re-done and compensation for all the damage done. They are probably scanning GN, so name and shame them, but be 100% honest or it may come back to bite you on the bum.

I have spent a very pleasant 3 hours having coffee with two other GNs who live locally.

I have been looking on line for a bedroom chair but comfort comes first and one should really sit in the chair. I found locally a very comfortable chair. It is narrow, which is what I want, looks as though the covering maybe a dark grey suede or similar. There are no arms but it is easy to get out of and I can supply my own footstool. All I need now is a new TV for my bedroom- winter nights sorted.

The fellow in the store kindly fitted it in my car and I have manged to get it indoors. I dumped it in my living room and within minutes Tara was downstairs testing it, probably thinking I had bought another bed for her. My stair lift will help me get the chair upstairs. It does not have 4 legs, I am not too sure how to describe the base.

I'm still befuddling. I believe the Scots would say de-guddling. Whatever, I'm in less of a knicker-twist than I was earlier.

There is visit to care home scheduled for tomorrow morning. Funeral of our friend tomorrow afternoon. A stack of ironing that reaches almost to the ceiling - (I blame the Davis Cup). Artwork on the board and preparations still not entirely straightforward. As I said, nothing major. Simply an irritatingly faffy Monday thus far.
