Hi just like a little feed back on a situation that has arisen not sure best way to deal with it. My sister called to see is at weekend she wanted a private word with mum who lives with us which is fine. When she had left mum got really moody snapppy and is now not talking to anyone in the house, not answering her phone etc. I asked her yest if she would like any shopping snapped back "no I will get it myself" I phoned my sister and said I haven't got a clue what is wrong. She then explained she needed to talk to her as a month before she overheard mum bad mouthing my neice ( mums grandaughter) off to other relations. Also telling them things my sister told her in confidence. She said she should not be telling everyone our buis that goes on in our homes. I do know she van be a gossip and puts her own version on things. At the moment I am dealing with it by not taking any notice, because it will be twisted to be all about her and how hard done by she is and dhe is not allowed to talk to people. Famlies!!!

I do feel for you Chris. I think - hope - your Mum will get over it in a bit. For now she is recoiling from being told off and, in fact, being found out for saying things she should not have. Sulking like a recalcitrant teenager. I agree with your reaction in not taking any notice. Just don't feed the situation. If she wants to get her own shopping that's fine, but probably just don't comment on it. Your Mum is lucky to be looked after by you and I'm sure she won't keep this up for long. Your sister was right to speak to her though. Good luck!

Thank you Belladonna. She has'nt left her annexe since sunday in protest no doubt. But she is banging around in there. Picked up some make up she ordered from debenhams today grudingly said thanks but didnt look away from tv. Honestly like having teenagers back in the house again.

Not sure how and why you decided to live together - but for me, I couldn't stand it. I loved and admired my parents dearly, but would never live with them. And would never live with my own children either. Just too close for comfort - seen it go badly wrong too many times. Bonne chance.

She has lived in an annexe flat to the side of the house after my dad died. About 15 years now usually ok. Got to me more because I haven't done anything. Also prob on the heels of my sister in law blaming me for something that I had no idea was happening and proved it to her but still continued to get nasty texts from her. Just about had it with family I am the one they all ask for help from when they need it and first to hit out at when they feel like it. My sister phoned me ton and said totally unfair you do everything for everyone and work full time but always in the firing line. Does not pay to be quiet.

flowers

yep- some of us always want to please, and always get in the firing line flowers

you may have to toughen up and learn to shrug and walk away (sooo hard, I know).
