Paper Bags with handles instead of plastc ones

I agree, we should be given paper bags to protect our garments. I bought some clothes today from different shops and remarked to my friend that I felt like I was shoplifting stuffing them all into the one bag. Although the other day I bought a top from Monsoon and was given a nice little paper carrier bag free of charge. Clothes seem that little bit more special in their own bag. Or is it just me?

It's a cop-out on the part of the shops, not supplying a thin paper bag at the very least to, protect newly bought garments.

Trees are farmed.

But won't that be a problem for trees if all the stores went to paper bags

I can remember D had a "thing" about paper carrier bags as a teen. Back then only "posh" shops gave you one. She took pride in walking down the street with her paper bag

I got a small paper carrier with strong white cord handles from Boots. Had their logo on, of course, but I undid the knots holding the cords and have put these in my string drawer - good for tying up plants etc. About a foot (30cms?) each cord. The bag has been recycled.

I got one in Laura Ashely's but was still charged for it.

Primark always give paper carriers and last time I bought something in Debenhams, they gave me a paper carrier bag.

Maybe they will. Meanwhile, I wish someone would do something about plastic packaging.
