It used to be just DH. LOL

Now....
Big bottle cold water (not so cold 3am)
Mobile + charger. (DD or MIL emergencies)
Specs
Piriton and anthisan cream ( last week flu plus and throat lozenges)
Rennies
Kindle or book

When DC were babies would take up tray with

Well I'm not only one with so much bedtime luggage or the need for anti allergy cream and tablets

I have been trying to think back to when it all started, I'm sure before my fifties I didn't need so much as a drink of water by my bed.
I have GC here during the week so I can't leave meds by my bed. They often have a nap in our room as we have ceiling fan in there and it is cool compared to the other bedrooms.
Kindle for same reason.

Sometimes I will take up what need early evening (esp if going out) so that I can stumble up to bed and avoid having to come back down for something I have forgotten as this drives DH mad!
Even more so if I ask him to get me water as I am coughing my guts up a bit.

Can anyone remember when they actually started carting the 'luggage to bed'?

I take much the same as anyone else, book (kindle lives by the bedside), my handset from landline and mobile, anti allergy cream as I have a horrid rash and glass or bottle of water.
sometimes my tablet as I play games before bed.

kindle bottle of water

I very often have a hot water bottle.
After the last few days when it was so hot I did not bother.

I was out and about being active yesterday it was a really warm day, but when I went to bed my feet had gone really cold so I went down and got my HWB. Problem solved.

Bottle of water - everything else I might need already there

paola Sun 24-Jul-16 07:23:53

Book. Phone and iPad banned from bedroom because they may distract me. And at the moment, ice packs and wet flannel to soothe me every time I wake as I am still itchy after a horrible allergic reaction to antibiotics!

I take Charlie. He is the most handsome long haired cat, and he purrs me to sleep every night.

Cup of green tea.

Glasses

Marmight Sat 23-Jul-16 14:56:33

Bottle of water
IPhone
IPad
Tube of travel Gaviscon - easy to slurp in the dark

Since we got burgled over 2 years ago, (I left a door unlocked, never since), my handbag has come upstairs with me, along with my smartphone. Sometimes a magazine.
Lipbalm sits on my bedside table, though no drinks, as I retain fluid. I often have painkillers to hand, though I am dieting at the moment and restricting my food intake is far better for my arthritis than any painkillers. I wear my activity tracker whilst I sleep.

Glass of water
Indigestion tablet
Vick nose thing (only in the winter)
Hand / feet cream
Tissues
On dear, sounds like a first aid kit!

Lisalou Fri 22-Jul-16 15:13:24

Iphone, mainly to charge and as alarm clock, DH manages to make his own way. So not much.

wot Thu 21-Jul-16 21:05:41

Hopes for a dream to tell me why we are here. Not happened yet

Grannynise Thu 21-Jul-16 20:41:47

Ipod so that I can listen to BBC podcasts when I wake in the night. Farming Today is great for getting me back to sleep!

BlueBelle Thu 21-Jul-16 19:05:41

well i cant get over how much luggage you all take..... i take my ipad and phone ...... radio is already there

TriciaF Thu 21-Jul-16 18:58:49

As an on-andoff insomniac I already have Piriton there. It can make me sleepy, but not always. Sometimes I take a hot water bottle to put under my left hip, which is where the restless leg comes from.
Last night I didn't doze off until about 5.30 am so hoping I can make up for it tonight.
If there's a storm predicted during the night I take our border collie with me because she likes to hide from storms.

I can imagine a bored teenager (yes, we do get them on here) laughing their heads off at all the bedside stuff.grin Mine is not much different to anyone elses, a mix of medications, glass of water, kindle, hankies to snuffle into ( got a cold and hay fever)
Books and clock are already there, and DH finds his own way there.

Kateykrunch Thu 21-Jul-16 18:39:51

I just take misen!, hubby manages to get there unaided. BUT why do you want to have all your valuables with you, I would rather a burglar finds my car keys and purse and sods off and leaves me alone instead of maki g his way to my bedroom to 'request' aforementioned!!

watermeadow Thu 21-Jul-16 18:32:36

Good Lord, what busy night lives you lot have! You're prepared for anything and everything!
I go up empty-handed, followed by dog and cat. I write my diary then go to sleep. When I wake up we all go downstairs. Night over.

Willow500 Thu 21-Jul-16 17:47:08

LOL Katek glad someone else takes the cat!
My list
Bowl of biscuits for above feline
Bottle of water
Ipad to read book
2 phones (personal & work) to charge during the night and for emergency calls
Ipod under pillow to check time (can't see once I take my lenses out)
glasses
lip salve
hand cream - already in drawer
fan (recent addition)
Other half but he disappears into his own room at top of the stairs grin

For the next two weeks it will also be my handbag containing all my cards, purse etc - husband is going away so just in case I get burgled.

Does anyone else dream they've been burgled and everything has gone when they get downstairs? No? Must just be me then grin

wot Thu 21-Jul-16 13:05:43

Book reader, meds already there.
