I have read with interest the posts started by allyoungpeople and the very reasoned and reasonable responses of many gransnetters. There is no doubt in my mind that Brexit has exacerbated ill-feeling towards the older generations (as it has racism and other things) but I don't think it is anything particularly new. Maybe it is to do with the 'I want it and I want it now' attitude of many younger people these days, maybe it is a lack of empathy or understanding that they too will grow older. I don't know. But on a general (not Brexit related) level I think things were already not great and don't understand how this particular form of ageism seems to be openly tolerated in a way other -isms would not be.
