Changing the subject....my favourite present one is the beautiful ballerina who dances with her younger self thanks to No 7. The look on her face is enchanting.

One advert that I remember seeing was for Aspro, it may have been Anadin, the tag line was "For when you're feeling one degree under" For years I thought there was an illness called "wundergreeunder"

"What's the recipe today Jim" do you remember that? My two friends and I had babies within a few months of each other in 1965 and used to visit each other once a month and for a reason I forget we decided to do the recipes featured on Jimmy Young , we
had some very good lunches. We are still friends 50 years later but widespread, and disabilities stop us getting together often.

I remember Jimmy Young extolling the virtues of some washing poder and claiming it got your washing clean withought the boil wash . I used to love to listen to Jim on the radio every weekday morning. Thursday was food day with Tony De Angeli and Friday was legals with the legal eagle and the legal beagle.Sometimes he had antique specials and vet specials with Ben Fogle's dad and one day a week was the doctor with Dr. Mike Smith.

I remember so many of those already mentioned now that my memory has been jogged.

When my two sons were about 10 and 12, I remember them once bursting into song as we walked down the supermarket aisle past the sanitary towels: Oh, Bodyform, Bodyform for you.

Miep, congratulations then , for getting my son to ' read' at about 2. He saw the advert for ' your flexible friend' , and of course, I immediately thought, genius child, he can read.

Oh yes - the loudest and most memorable was "1001 cleans big big carpets for less than half a crown".

Then I remember the Milky Bar Kid and "There's an awful lot of coffee in Brazil" and "Roses grown on you" (Norman Wisdom) and the Cyril Lord mentioned above, and "Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger! - We used to sing that at school and then add "Stick them in your ear and they'll last a bit longer"

And "So we say out of water on with Nulon" But I could never work out what the second line of that was.
