Here we are again...you know the words. Welcome and enjoy each others company. [cake] wine flowers sunshine...
Away to watch more tennis grin

soop Sun 07-Aug-16 15:26:52

Charleyg That bully boy needs teaching a lesson on good manners. Rory would like to oblige only he's napping right now.

Can anyone tell me why the Radio Times promises Olympics tennis on BBC4 at 3pm...and shows volleyball instead? I'm miffed!

Charleygirl Sun 07-Aug-16 14:20:57

soop I keep repeating myself but I love the latest photos of those two gorgeous cats. I wonder if they would like a holiday here?

Bully boy attempted yet again to get inside early today but Tara alerted me by her screaming. No doubt she woke the entire neighbourhood. I shored up the cat flap, Tara retired to bed and I had a cup of coffee. sorted.

soop Sun 07-Aug-16 13:42:05

Oh! No! My entire message has disappeared. I've been responding to every one of you. At least 30 minutes worth of my time lost. Why does this happen. I'm not at all pleased.

number The opening ceremony was very well choreographed. We taped it. Watched it yesterday evening. Andy looked honoured and proud to be the flag bearer.

annsixty I echo Charleyg's sensible advice. Please tell it how it is for your own sake.

Galen How come I'm excited on your behalf...grin

cornergran and Crafting You are doing sterling work. When you get the chance to "chill" then enjoy well deserved treats.

kitty It really is good to have you visit the kitchen. Save a slice of your husband's birthday for me, please. My birthday on Monday. I do indulge in real cake on such occasions.

Bellanonna thank you for your kind comment. My hair is easier to manage. Had lots lopped off. We decided to save money on my weekly OAP Friday hair dos (about 18 months ago) as a result, it went haywire.

DaphneB What have I been missing? Does David Gandy look okay in underpants? I must keep an eye open. wink
I'm so in awe of your sleepover skills. I'm guessing that the lads entertain each other (some of the time). It's the early rising that floors me. I'm not at my best first thing in the morning.

NanaandGrampy "Understated elegance" can only be achieved after much thought and plenty of hard graft.

NanaandGrampy Sun 07-Aug-16 09:02:10

Good Morning all !!

Took me half a day to recover from our sleep over with DGS3 and 4. They aren't naughty by a long shot but its all go go go. My lovely DD1 had us over on Friday afternoon and DGD1 and DGS2 took charge of the little ones giving us some breathing space .

Now my final job of the week is a few hours babysitting at DD2 tonight whilst they go off to a no kids invited BBQ!!! Crazy!!

I loved the picture of you and your sister Soop .You will be pleased to know that DGS4 aka the climber was the model of well behaved. Apart from catching him bouncing from bed to bed , he settled very quickly and we didn't hear from either boy till 6am . They brought reading books onto the landing and sat there waiting for Grampy to get up as he is the provider of breakfast!!

Fabulous teddy LoopyLou . Handmade gifts are the best !

OUCH Gandtea ,,,, that is all !!

ah Daphne that was the same reason we had DGS3 &4. I don't remember ever doing that when mine were small but times change eh? I hope, like us, you survived smile. My only complaint is Mummy and Daddy don't rush themselves to come and collect their little darlings the next day so what should have been s few hours turned into 2 full days pretty much.

Congratulations Galen on the safe arrival of your new grandson. Shame about the pictures but a pencil drawing will do wink I bet you're looking forward to that first cuddle .

Oh * Bellanonna* I so agree with that!! That's why Grampy does breakfast!! I can't talk before my first coffee of the day.

Right, back to the decorating for me ... Ill post a pic when its finished...I'm aiming of understated elegance...not sure what I'm getting though !

Good luck for tomorrow Ann !!

Happy Sunday all !!

annsixty Sun 07-Aug-16 08:33:38

Only a few years to go when you will be yelling from the hall "are you ever going to get out of that bed" from 11am on.

Bellanonna Sun 07-Aug-16 06:58:55

I had that yesterday daphne but with only one little 4 year old. It reinforced my knowledge that I'm just not a morning person. It's not so much the waking up, which I often do, but the having to be active and chatty. CBBs works for a while, to get breath back and have a cup of tea, but after that it's full on. Hope it was only the one night, and that Mum and Dad enjoyed their night off.

DaphneBroon Sun 07-Aug-16 06:44:20

Didn't work, the boys got themselves up and dressed (in yesterday's clothes!) and pootled through 20 minutes ago. shock [yawn emoticon]

cornergran Sun 07-Aug-16 06:31:21

daphne - hope they went back to sleep, but suspect not. Keep repeating 'I can do this......' smile.

DaphneBroon Sun 07-Aug-16 05:50:11

I am surrounded by naked menshock
No, not David Gandy, he of the M&S pants ad, but things are astir at Granny's and both DGSs have been up for a wee/a new plaster on a foot/to see if it is time to wake up yet (NO!) and they have both taken their PJ tops off as it was a hot night.
I stagger back to bed to find DH in a similar state of undress shock
Oh for another hour's sleep .......
with pj's firmly in place.

Bellanonna Sat 06-Aug-16 21:54:42

Lovely photos of new hairdo soop.
galen . Glad he's arrived at last. Congratulations.
ann. All the very best for Monday. Do come back to us as soon as you can.

kittylester Sat 06-Aug-16 21:50:56

Hi everyone. I've not been here for a while either and what lot has happened. New babies, hair does and knees to mention just a few.

Good luck tonight and tomorrow Daphne - have a big sit down asap.

Extremely good luck fir your adventure ann, let us know how you are as quickly as you can but try to stay in as long as possible.

Does the baby have a name Galen?

I love your hair soop, my hair will not grow past my shoulders.

It's dh birthday tomorrow so we are we expecting lots of visitors. I suppose I'd better make a cake!

Crafting Sat 06-Aug-16 20:53:42

Been really busy with school hols and visiting care home so just popped in for a quick kitchen catch up. Cornergran may I just say "ditto" to everything you've said as you got there first (except for the bit about the garden - I don't have one). Have a good weekend all smile

cornergran Sat 06-Aug-16 19:00:36

Sorry, haven't been able to read back very far, so apologies for missing important things. Congratulations Galen, he sounds just perfect. Good luck for Monday ann, fingers and toes will be crosssed for you, please do make it clear you need support at home, you won't be running for a while. Soop love the hair, have never had long hair, even as a child, so very envy. Busy day in the garden today, creating a new seating area, sometimes I need reminding my head and my body are not the same age grin. Out all day tomorrow and most of Monday so wishing you all well for the next few days.

annsixty Sat 06-Aug-16 17:46:01

Thanks all. My "hotel" reservation is for 7am with surgery planned for the morning. Hospital is 10 minutes away. I may not be able to keep in touch but will update you all when I can.

Galen Sat 06-Aug-16 17:41:46

I'm waiting until they're home. I'm hoping I can go up next weekend

Charleygirl Sat 06-Aug-16 17:37:20

I agree, lovely hairdo but I just adore the cats. The pair of them are so photogenic.

annsixty no doubt you are leaving at the crack of dawn on Monday for surgery the same day. Please do not forget that the minute the word "discharge" is mentioned, you cannot cope at home.

In case you are so busy and you do not check on line tomorrow, all the very best, it can only get better from now on.

I must be pregnant because I "must" have a beef curry this evening although it is sunny and humid- c'est la vie ici.

numberplease Sat 06-Aug-16 17:28:35

Lovely pics of the new hairdo Soop, and gorgeous ones of Rory and Bracken, even though she does have her tonue stuck out, little madam!
Welcome to Grandson Galen. Those first size clothes won`t fit for very long!
Feeling a bit tired today, I was up till 4am watching the Olympic opening ceremony.

soop Sat 06-Aug-16 16:38:47

Enjoy your Saturday night and I shall be back with you tomorrow. smile moon

soop Sat 06-Aug-16 16:37:43

annsixty I agree with you. We each have different views on the matter. Just as well. smile
When do you go to the hospital? Will it be tomorrow? Whenever it is, Us lot will be sending our very best wishes to you for a successful op and a speedy recovery. flowers

Before I log off until tomorrow, here are two pics of Bracken and Rory.

annsixty Sat 06-Aug-16 16:29:57

I always think it is a very good thing nobody told my/our generation about bonding as by now we would all be a seething mass of neurotics and in need , along with our offspring, of psychiatric help,

soop Sat 06-Aug-16 15:49:32

DaphneB Modern technology is quite wonderful. I do not own any of the latest gizmos. The computer is aged. My cell phone is even more aged. That's my lot.

Galen Many thanks for the description of your not-so-wee grandson. I'm really chuffed for you. (hugs)

soop Sat 06-Aug-16 15:44:47

Nellie you are naughty. But I like you...grin

Galen Sat 06-Aug-16 15:38:25

Looks like dark hair. Very smooth face. fat chubby cheeks. Looks very peaceful at the moment.
I won't see him for some time. They want to "bond" anyway she's now in hospital because of the risk of b strep infection to the baby. Then I'm working all week. Perhaps next week if all goes ok?

DaphneBroon Sat 06-Aug-16 14:57:10

Ah, it's bottom left on my iPad, beside the number symbol. There is a selection of wee baby faces too! ???????????
Such fun!!

Charleygirl Sat 06-Aug-16 14:27:57

DaphneBroon DH can come also provided he behaves medically. The Royal Free is not a million miles from where I live but parking is impossible. I could not leave Grace on her own because Tara would have a fit when she returned and Grace would be the worse for wear methinks. Also from what you have said, I would not manage to get Grace into my car and it is too hot to leave her in the car at the RFH.
