Away to watch more tennis grin

Sometimes I wish daphne but not often. My day has been like "The curate's egg" good in parts. H has been his usual self which is enough to say.

Charleygirl Tue 12-Jul-16 21:42:34

Daphne I am pleased to see that DD and young Flynn are resting as is Grace. She loves company.

You were unlucky having torrential rain- it rained here but it was enough to water my plants.

Tara meandered home last night at 10pm but this evening it was around 7pm. I never know when she may appear. She has also retired to "her" bedroom the last couple of nights so long may that continue.

I will be hanging around waiting for an electric air flosser to arrive from Amazon tomorrow. My dentist shocked me by saying that if things do not improve, I will lose a tooth the next time I visit.

Elrel Tue 12-Jul-16 21:38:51

Thatbags - a GC wouldn't touch nectarines as she hated tge furrinee of peaches. Finally she's over it too. Good for Minibags!

DaphneBroon Tue 12-Jul-16 21:09:20

Cricket St Thomas is where the TV series "To The Manor Born" was filmed (and I am sure you and Mrs P qualify!!)

cornergran Tue 12-Jul-16 20:34:56

Lovely photo daphne, pure contentment. Back from a frustrating meander which eventually took in many shops trying to find something appropriate to wear for our friend's funeral. Nothing in the wardrobe is 'quite right' and I don't want to go feeling 'almost', if you know what I mean. Still a while to go, so the search can continue. Have my bottom appropriately clad, it's the top proving a problem. hmm. Off to see the littlest one tomorrow so plenty of smiles to look forward to. Pleased your friend is a little better, soop, be good for him and everyone for him to be closer to home.

GandTea Tue 12-Jul-16 20:19:57

Corton (our nearest) and Holme Lacy, we are at Thorsby atm.

DaphneBroon Tue 12-Jul-16 20:11:50

Which hotels G&Tea? Is Cricket St Thomas among them?
Belated birthday hugs to Annsixty (do we have to call you annsixtyone now?)
Hoping Soop is feeling better by now too
In haste as we are just back from a hospital visit in London in torrential rain, so glad I wasn't driving as the M1 was SOLID all the way home sad
Got to feed the troops now
xx

Today's baby/Gracie fix
Or peaceful co-existence

Quite so, number!

numberplease Tue 12-Jul-16 18:07:43

They won`t have forgotten you Soop, you`re unforgettable!

GandTea Tue 12-Jul-16 18:04:56

Booked yet another holiday at Warners, that's two up and coming now.

soop Tue 12-Jul-16 18:02:46

I'm orf to feed the felines. I shall call in to catch up with you lot late morning. I'm wondering...have the ladies missed me OR have the ladies forgotten me? Only one way to find out. Off to the Care Home and hope to find them in good spirits.

soop Tue 12-Jul-16 17:56:38

number The evening ferry. It's lights twinkled prettily.
It is a beautiful late afternoon in Kintyre. I fear that I shall be photographing more sunsets. wink

soop Tue 12-Jul-16 17:53:21

bags I like you best when you're as dippy as your dopey pal.
Why did you start your day at that unseemly hour? I would have been coming/going to the bathroom. Need to wee every hour. I'm lucky...can get right back to sleep. Except of course when the birds decide to use the stick-on-window feeder at first light. The constant tap-tap-tapping when a bird extracts the kernel from a seed, was unsettling. MacS has removed it until later in the year. Birds have four feeding stations. Quite enough for several flocks.
Minibags has excellent taste. She may like the easy-to-peal satsumas - juicy and flavoursome

Hiya!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNE!
Soop, so glad you`re better today. Is that the evening or early morning ferry?
Cornergran, I got back in touch with Sylvia through Friends Reunited, but they`re not there anymore, are they? I`m another who doesn`t use Facebook. I did join, but never actually used it, couldn`t be bothered.
Lona, glad the flat is all that you desire, enjoy your new life!

thatbags Tue 12-Jul-16 17:17:25

In other news, Minibags (she of the Food Fears) ate a nectarine today for the first time in her life. And liked it! Woohoo!

thatbags Tue 12-Jul-16 17:10:51

Glad to hear you are feeling better soop-de-doop smile (sorry! daft mood grin ) which I'm quite glad about because I was tired by noon today. Not surprising as I was awake from about 0315 and got up around four. I had an hour's nap and was revitalised for the afternoon which was nice because my back was killing after snipping plum tree suckers earlier. Hey ho. Managed to scythe some cat's-ears (weeds!!!!) and found a ^Jaapiella veronicae^: orange-bodied, long-legged gall midge. Well... I found some of its galls on Germander Speedwell.

soop Tue 12-Jul-16 15:31:52

Try to remain dry, Charleg. We have blue sky and a light breeze.

An item of good news. Our friend who has been so poorly and was taken to Oban hospital, is being transferred to the Care Home later today. His wife and I will visit him tomorrow. I haven't seen the ladies for almost three weeks. smile

Charleygirl Tue 12-Jul-16 15:25:48

I had hung out one item when the rain started and it has hardly stopped since, even hearing some thunder. No sign of Tara, a few years ago she would be tucked up in bed indoors but not anymore.

I am getting a tad short on basics so I must make my way outdoors.

soop Tue 12-Jul-16 13:59:30

oldgoat grin Enjoy your meander in the sunshine. As I typed those words the sun came out from behind fluffy clouds.
The phone rang..."The National database..." I thought to myself *********************************** and hung up.

Charleygirl Tue 12-Jul-16 13:36:41

cornergran I also do not have a Facebook account and at present have no intention of having one. I spend enough time on GN as it is- little gets done around here.

cornergran Tue 12-Jul-16 13:24:30

Pleased you are feeling better, soop. Your idea about Facebook is a good one except I must be the only person in the uk without an account grin. My profession precluded it, strongly advised not to, and I just haven't got around to an account since retirement. I could now with care, will one day if I can get myself organised. smile. Cleaning is done so off out for a meander, nice word that when I have absolutely no idea where I will finish up! Will speak to my friend later, she has funeral plans to share and I think just needs a 'normal' chat. Have a good afternoon everyone. We still have [sumshine] hope you do too.

oldgoat Tue 12-Jul-16 13:19:41

Glad you are feeling better*soop*.

oldgoat Tue 12-Jul-16 13:17:49

Oh no! nandg. I've just started at Slimming World, sat down to choose my 'free food' and what pops up on your post - only those fabulous cakes! Must remember 'a minute on the lips etc.' I'll just have a virtual nibble. A little bit of each one I think.

soop Tue 12-Jul-16 12:57:22

Happy birthday to annsixty To be told that the result of scans on your eye is encouraging, must be a gift in itself. Enjoy your day to the full. Take your new handbag out with you. You deserve to be pampered. flowers

number Your friend's 'phone call will have cheered you no end. Such a lovely surprise.

NanaandGrampy Those cakes! Smacks lips. Oily fish on a Ryveta for my lunch, followed by a crispy apple. Truth is...I'd love a slice of each but my knicker elastic wouldn't be able to cope.

Lona Aww, thank you for popping in and bringing us lot up to date. I had a sneaky feeling that this apartment of yours was going to lift your spirits sky high. I'm very pleased for you.

cornergran You could try Facebook. A long shot but worth a try

The sick feeling went away during the evening. I guess that it was brought on by the various medications I'm taking together with antibiotics. All well. Thank you for your good wishes.
