I certainly don't. I agree that Gransnet's perked up a bit lately and got us all going. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible (and I think some of the agony aunt threads are the most spiteful of all).

IMO, some threads on GN have been examples of the worst spite I have seen for a long while. Soop has every right to comment without being pounced upon, just because she pokes her nose out of the kitchen. The kitchen is for those that like it, if you don't just ignore it, but there is no reason to be nasty about it.

Why on Earth can't some of you just be pleasant, it doesn't hurt.

I agree with you, jings. It drew me back again. I had been doing less and less recently, but it has been far more interesting lately. Some serious discussions, a few tempers fraying, various bits of drivel to point out, alternative threads put up in a brave attempt to provide a refuge from the battles - more life than it has had for months!

Maybe a simple enquiry about GS's school uniform/daps/trainers time?

Gransnet Lite was Grannynet, wasn't it? Died a death a few months ago.

GD, I like the idea of a Lite version, no politics. religion etc.

We did seem to be lightening up for a while, then all hell let lose again. But we do still have some interesting threads for the politically inept like myself.

I don't know how to describe this but here goes. My idea does sound horrible but I've seen this and it worked. It depends on the style you have created in your kitchen of course.

My cousin is really good at home decoration. She altered a kitchen cupboard by painting it , taking the door off and replacing the door panel with chicken wire surrounded by the original frame obviously. It worked , it looked like shabby country sheek.

I did start the Who would rescue you thread which I hope provided some amusement. Not wanting to discuss politics ALL the time doesn't mean we are lightweights, so more non politic threads please!

I'm feeling end of school year this week and break up very soon, so "out with the old, in with the new" come September, and that includes politics for me too. It's exhausting trying to keep up with everyone's views.

I agree (with apols for starting Gove thread earlier). No more politics from me, i promise. Be nice to have a break and some positivity for a change
