I don't think any other politicians could risk nullifying the election because it would incense UKIP and many Leave voters. Unlike the rest of the UK Scotland does not have a bevy of UKIP MEPs. I reminded myself last week of the result of the last EU elections. Sobering - and probably the thing that put the wind up Cameron and there rest as they say, is history.

Nicola is the same age as my DS1 also. I was and 'older' mum too at the age of 30. You and I M0nica could easily have daughters on Gransnet! A sobering thought.

"Ginny" I definitely think David Cameron made a strategic move in resigning and passing the Article 50 baton to his successor, but I do think there was an element of "Why should I do all the hard work?" and there's been reports of 'inside sources' saying just that.

His resignation now gives the government months of breathing space for planning the next steps. Not just the government, but the other parties too.

She is smart in her intellect and that's what matters most especially at this time of turmoil.

I think NS dresses very smartly and knows what suits her. There's many things people might dislike about her, but that's the first time I've heard of her wardrobe being mentioned. Personally I would say for a woman her age (55), her work wardrobe is a bit formal and business like for a wedding. Everyone sees things differently I suppose.
