A'dislike' or 'disagree' button does not 'criticise' the person, surely, but the basic idea or opinion expressed. Very common on other Forums btw.

A like button would be useful on a fast moving thread because sometimes by the time you've constructed a carefully worded post things have moved on.

Just saying, 'I agree' seems a bit lazy but a 'like' could show a bit of quick support while you watch how things are going.

I agree with phoenix

If you dislike something there are plenty of other things to read, and if you press 'dislike' then you have just performed a negative action to someone you don't even know, who may leave on the strength of just that.

We are all sensitive.

I think a "dislike" button is a dreadful idea!If you dislike something, (or someone?) just ignore and move on.

If you pressed 'like' you might feel less inclined to post

Yes, that would be nice indeed. And an edit button for when you realise too late you've made a spelling or grammar mistake.

Oh and perhaps a 'groan' or 'dislike' button too. That could come in handy too ;)

Is there a 'like' button on Gransnet as there is on Facebook? When I read some of the comments that make me smile I want to 'like' them instead of writing a reply
.
