My DS has been trying for years to get a new contract for some important work and today he finally signed that contract. Please be happy for me/ him I am not boasting.

What's your good news?

Got the go.ahead for.a.hip replacement last week. Got used to putting up with the pain. Looking forward to getting my life back. Got to see a consultant in July, it's like reaching the top level of a tricky computer game. Hallelujah. grin

carer123 one of the things I like to do in Rome is get the metro and get off at Colloseo, I think it is magic you are on the metro in the 20th century and come out of the station and look at the Collisium I always feel it is a "Dr Who" moment

In 5 weeks time I'm retiring and moving to be near my daughters after being 2.5 hours journey away for years. I can't wait,

Positive plans Rubylady. I often think planning ahead can give as much pleasure as the actual event.

Glad things went well with DS yesterday.

Helped care for littlest grandchild who now recognises us and holds his arms up for a snuggle. Bliss. smile.

There are some really big good news there and I'm very happy for you all. I've no such big news. I booked the cleaner (I've not wanted anyone in for a while), booked a massage, bought a new swimdress and will ring disabled swimming baths for timetable. Not much in comparison, but it might help with health conditions.

I have had a lovely day with DS, like someone said, it's only reported when there is a problem. So no, today he's been lovely. smile

I got a birthday card from my dgd aged 8, written by her to.....
'''The fashionablest granny who smells of roses.
Knows evthing and yells never'''

Today we had family for dinner and afterwards played some Roy Orbison music where she and I danced and I taught her some basic steps for the jive and that when I lifted both our/her arm she would go under at the next beat. (I danced the man's part)
Oh, I did enjoy it.

Had a lovely family day in Eastbourne, DGS loved it and the weather was sunny. Safely back to the holiday let and it has only now started raining. A good day.

We're being taken out to Brunch for Father's Day by DD, SiL and the DGSs. Well DH is and I'm invited too. Am v hungry right now as I know where we're going and their Brunches are out of this world!
Then, in the pm, I've discovered the Drama channel has Cranford on at present and I'm catching up with the second series which I'd missed. Bliss!

ginny Sun 19-Jun-16 09:01:01

Love all the good news.
I have spent the last week away with DD3 and my 4 month old DGS. DH and SIL have come for the weekend. We have had a lovely time.

Had a surprise day yesterday with visits to two flower shows, such clever people with their arrangements, and how do people grow long straight sweet peas with perfect blooms, my are always short and the flowers stubby. Mind you, I could have out-done some of the displays of hosta leaves, mine are magnificent, complete with holes too!

I managed to sing in a concert last night - with a long afternoon rehearsal. I have been so tired with sorting for the move that I did not think I would make it; and it is painful to stand and sing for a long period - but I did it! It has given me a real lift! Success!

DD3 and family are coming fir a meal after collecting the children from their father. Her partner is a fabulous father to the children and it's lovely to see them all together.

GandTea Sun 19-Jun-16 07:43:26
