All tarted up our best togs, heading for our Friday night dance.

I messaged too soon! The beautiful dry day and evening have given way to another absolute monsoonish episode.

That is good news because... because...

My little dog who was better took a turn for the worse! But is now recovering for the second time!

I leave my job next week. It's been so stressful for so long and since I handed in my notice I have felt like a different person. I think I have been such a misery but now seem to be smiling and laughing again. Hope to find something else after having time to recuperate but if I don't I'm sure we will manage.

My little GD had her first birthday photo shoot today and was beautifully behaved. She wore her new dress and didn't even try to take off the matching headband. I can't wait to see the photos. That's the good news, and the even better news is that the photographer, who is a friend of my DD, absolutely insisted she was doing this as a gift and wouldn't hear of DD paying her a penny smile

Parsleywin it's good news because not only are the gardens loving it (mine looks lush and blooming) but also because we really need to fill the reservoirs. smile

GOOD NEWS:
Tomorrow the family are descending for Father's Day.

My father in law's cancer doesn't seem to be giving him too much trouble and is treatable (prostate).

My son has a summer job and his exams went well.

I'm recovering my voice.

DD3 and family are coming fir a meal after collecting the children from their father. Her partner is a fabulous father to the children and it's lovely to see them all together.

I managed to sing in a concert last night - with a long afternoon rehearsal. I have been so tired with sorting for the move that I did not think I would make it; and it is painful to stand and sing for a long period - but I did it! It has given me a real lift! Success!

Had a surprise day yesterday with visits to two flower shows, such clever people with their arrangements, and how do people grow long straight sweet peas with perfect blooms, my are always short and the flowers stubby. Mind you, I could have out-done some of the displays of hosta leaves, mine are magnificent, complete with holes too!

Love all the good news.
I have spent the last week away with DD3 and my 4 month old DGS. DH and SIL have come for the weekend. We have had a lovely time.

Jane10 Sun 19-Jun-16 09:09:38

We're being taken out to Brunch for Father's Day by DD, SiL and the DGSs. Well DH is and I'm invited too. Am v hungry right now as I know where we're going and their Brunches are out of this world!
Then, in the pm, I've discovered the Drama channel has Cranford on at present and I'm catching up with the second series which I'd missed. Bliss!

Had a lovely family day in Eastbourne, DGS loved it and the weather was sunny. Safely back to the holiday let and it has only now started raining. A good day.
