I can't put it in the food bank box can I?

The hospice which is my designated charity has a bar for patients. I always remember my feeling of joy when I went in to collect my husband after a day of blood transfusions to find him siting with a rum and coke in one hand and the telephone in the other booking a car service. It was so gloriously normal at a time when nothing else was. I drop a bottle in for the patients from time to time. Sherry and whisky used to be the ones that most people asked for but these days gin, vodka and wine are regularly requested too. Why not ask your local hospice if they do the same?

Today, and also a couple of times recently, I cannot find a list of Competition Winners.

Im raising funds for macmillan and Im sure they would have it to raffle.

I use J.D. In baked apple slices and butter at The time of the year we won't be mentioning yet. It's very good! Can be used in a lot of recipes especially desserts!

I agree that if you don't like whisky, there is always a local charity raffle who would be really grateful.

When you make marmalade substitute half the water for whisky. That's how I'm gradually using up all the whisky inherited from PIL. It is rather delicious!

i volunteer in a food bank, and we recently had a fundraising quiz--we would have been overjoyed to receive a bottle of whiskey for our raffle.

Also a fund raiser for our Hospice, would be n=more than happy to accept.

Dont let it go to waste--if you do not want it, let it go to a good cause.

Raffle it or donate it to a local charity having a fete for a bottle stall. Or you could add it to the 'send it on' Christmas gifts pile, bet it wouldn't be going round for very long!

Raffle prize seems the best idea. I agree Jing, you can't put it in the food bank box, though I imagine somebody would be delighted if you did.

Foodbanks often have fund raising events so I'd ask your local foodbank if this was the case with theirs. Then ask they if they'd like the whiskey as a raffle prize to raise funds for their operation.

We've raised £100 with a bottle of whisky using a whisky number board so I'm sure it will be very gratefully received by a local charity

Give it to the next fete/bazaar or church /charity sale as a raffle prize.
