NanaandGrampy Tara is also like Sam and would much prefer it if the door was opened for her but unfortunately the doorman is on permanent leave. She manages well- I only hope that the fellow comes today to reverse the door. It is only a matter of time before the children notice that they could have fun with the controls.

soop order of play today is Roger, then Serena and lastly Andy. I do not know if they are starting at 11am or 2pm., hopefully the former. I am looking forward to Andy's match but I will try to catch Roger's also. The weather at present is perfect. Famous last words.

Love your picture, kitty, they look so happy. n&g - I hope they are poppies! Look smaller but definitely poppy shaped, my neighbour calls them poppies, but maybe not. Whatever they are, I covet some. Probably weeds . We've a friend who spent many years living in France, poppies are definitely her favourite, bring back many lovely memories, she has tried for years to grow them but just can't get a good outcome. Odd, isn't it? Think I'll stick to my fuchsias and roses, they grow with no effort here. Lazy, that me .

Why is it waking up to bright skies and sunshine makes it sooo much easier to get out of bed ?

Oh no Charley poor Tara. Hope the door reverse goes well. I watched DGS3 and 4 entering and exiting by the dog door yesterday which is a large cat flap. The dog however preferred to wait for the door to be opened !! Says a lot .

soop we keep planting poppies only for them to disappear * but I'd love to see a field full too !! No art school for me I just love a bit of crafting . My poor family are the usual recipients of my 'work' I'm sure they sigh these days !!

Corner I shall have to google yellow poppies !I'm intrigued. I do think Teacher gifts are a new thing, but I think they probably deserve something ( a stiff drink springs to mind ) . I've just completed a second gift. This one is a little acrylic apple that stands up. I've attached it to a card for our DGD to write something inside. When it stands up it say 'Thank you to the best teacher EVER' on the other side. I hope she likes it too.

It's been lovely and sunny here today for a change; I've done some weeding and cutting back then we threw around some wild flower seeds on part of the lawn - a bit late but hoping something may come of it and we will have our own bee-friendly patch!

She will always be Mrs P to me. Pompa is what my GC call me, it is a name that has been used in my family for several generations.

I was Pompa for years, the I went off in a huff and de-registered (can't even remember why now) After a few weeks I decided to come back but had to choose a new name. Most old members still know My wife as Mrs P.. sorry to confuse.

Help! I have made a curry for dinner as it is obviously well liked here, nice bit of lamb, but it is too hot for me. I am going to stir in some creme freich which I found in the fridge, but I think I need a pint not a few spoonfuls. Might keep me quiet for the rest of the evening.

I have been a bit depressed this week as our son said they could not come and stay this year - because their child minder is not going to work Fridays so son and Dil will have to use their holiday up covering this until our dgd goes to school in September. Most inconsiderate of her. Need to find a dog sitter so we can go there, but we are VERY fussy about who we let in our house. Getting over it now, long Skype session this morning helped.

Don't want to whinge as others here have much worse problems.

LOL, it would be wasted on me anyway. The one I play most often is at the top end of the quality massed produced ones, only £380. There is a huge jump to the good hand made ones.

If money was no object i would love one of these, a friend has one and it sounds beautiful.

Had a lovely day out at a country park on Essex with several friends and we all took our dogs and walked and socialised. We picnicked and enjoyed a day with sunshine. Perhaps it is me but I found that when we came to leave and we had to pay £6.00 for the car park I was a bit shocked. Anytime over 3 hours and that was the charge. There were many families there and I thought how expensive a day out would be for them. By the time they buy ice cream, perhaps food, and everything else children might want, it's not a cheap day out. The park is not on a bus route so a car would be necessary. Perhaps I am a bit out of touch with prices of things these days but I thought it was a bit over the top.

It's been summer again here in Cheshire. My washing has dried on the line and I've been to Tatton Park to meet my nephew, his wife and two boys, 3 and 6. (on holiday from Glasgow). The 3-year-old is quite a tearaway who reminds me of my youngest GS, now 8 and still a rascal. We had lunch sitting in the sun in the sheltered courtyard. Then we walked through the wonderful gardens where the fruit in the orchard is ripening nicely.
It was lovely to be with the younger children, as my GC are all growing up far too fast. My oldest GS was 12 on Friday and when I spoke to him on the phone I didn't recognise his voice. In the shortish time since I saw him, his voice has broken. I didn't think it would happen so soon. Felt quite
