Good Morning all !

There's a little hint of sunshine here so I'm feeling chipper !

Alea hope all is well with you and your DH.I wondered if there might be an update here but as someone said hopefully you're getting some well earned rest.

Grampy went to the GP to talk about his gout episode ,was all a little lame ( sorry couldn't help myself] !! He had a blood test but other than that didn't get any advice on the problem so its off to Mr Google I suppose !

Our little granddaughter got back from Dublin on Sunday night. She is a student councillor at her primary school and the whole council had afternoon tea with the local mayor in his parlour yesterday to talk about politics and government.

I am hugely impressed that even at that age they are exposed to how our society works ( or doesn't). At her age I wouldn't have had a clue. I did ask how it all went and she said she may have to be mayor one day as he served excellent cakes!! ( I think we have a way to go )

oldgoat, that reminds me of a story I heard when I was working as a clippy on Blackpool trams ones summer. The sister of one of my friends had done the same job the year before as had her friend. This friend had been sacked for not wearing knickers while at work. How did anyone know? By looking up her skirt when she went up the tram stairs!

Is is just me who thinks the person or people looking up skirts are the ones who were behaving badly? Well... only the ones who reported it . I wonder if it was a woman?

Just popped in to see how Alea's DH (and of course Alea) is getting on. I hope she is still in bed and not still in A&E.

My sister and I used to stay with our Aunty in Bristol. When ever we were going out for the day she used to tell us that we must wear clean knickers because the bus conductor would look up your skirt when you went up the stairs , to check.

I have been caught out like that before and now carry a spare pair in my handbag. DS does think I am over-anxious but better to be safe than sorry. My mother used to ask if I had decent underwear on in case I ever got knocked down

Checked in again in what feels like the middle of the night to read your news alea about Mr A. All I can think to do is to pull a very cross face on your behalf and then send you both lots iof hugs with fingers crossed for a positive resolution - and soon. Congratulation to you both. for remaining so resilient.

Alea I have not been on GN today. I hope your OH is sorted out soon.

Alea, at least you haven`t had someone come up to you in Wilko to say that your skirt is stuck in your knickers!

I do hope that he does not end up at the Royal Free because travelling is such a nightmare with parking being impossible there. I would think that one would have to take out a mortgage to afford parking, like other London hospitals.

I hope you are back at home stroking Grace with tomorrow's knickers laid out.

"Here we go again". That's become our phrase of the moment. It's very depressing for you both. Hope whatever needs doing has been started. It's the right place for him to be and I hope you get to speak to a duty doc at least. It's Monday, too, which is good so weekdays ahead. Hope you get some sleep later. Sometimes easier said than done I know.

So sorry to hear that your husband is back in hospital. I hope you'll both be back home very soon.

Alea, keep away from bus routes. I am so sorry you and your OH are back in A&E again. Hope they have got to the bottom of his latest problem. Once, on a cross-Channel ferry, DS1 came up behind me and informed me that I had my shirt on inside out. I was able to find an unoccupied loo to make the necessary adjustment. I won't even go to sleep if I find my nightie is inside out.

Oh no! Not again! Poor you and poor DH. You must be worn down with the stress. Let us know how things are going. [tea]

I hope you don't get run over by a bus too! I bet you can't get the knicker situation out of your mind and feel really uncomfortable.

Alea I'm so sorry to hear that your husband had to go back to A and E again. You must both be so fed up with it, even if it is the right place to help him.

Oh dear, alea! So difficult and stressful for you both

soop asked me to mention that she is having puter problems again and will try to get onto GN tomorrow after her care home visit. I'm sure she would add her sympathies for Alea and her husband.

Oh no Alea so sorry to hear about your poor husband , and forgive me but I had to chuckle about your knickers ! I went out whilst on my hols only for my husband (after 4 hrs) to tell me my t shirt was on inside out !!

I typed out a post a few minutes ago, and stupidly managed to lose it!
Alea, I`m so sorry to hear that you and your poor husband are going through all this again, your husband (and you) must be feeling o fed up with it. My best wishes to you both.
We had a lovely sunny morning, then at 2.45pm it absolutely bucketed down, it was a white out! Then it stopped and the blazing sun came out again, and just as it looked as if all was drying out, down came the rain again! At the moment we`re on hot sunshine again, how long for is anybody`s guess!

I posted on Saturday about my daughter clearing all the weeds and rubbish in the back yard, plus all the beer cans obligingly plonked down the side passage, I went outside yesterday, and there were 2 more fag ends thrown over our wall! No doubt there`ll be more beer cans soon.

I am thinking of you in MK hospital Alea - I spent many hours there waiting in a bay in A&E whilst DH's cycling accidents were assessed.

I am sending my very best wishes for a speedy decision about poor Mr A and what they can do for him. You must be tired, anxious and hungry. Keep your chin up and make sure you get some fluids - it is so easy to get dehydrated in the heat of a hospital.

ann when you have your knee op you make it clear to everybody who will listen that you will not be able to cope if you are discharged too soon. I was operated on the Friday and discharged the following Saturday and I found it a culture shock living on my own and still not feeling well. You also tell everybody about your DH until they get the message.

Alea it sounds to me as though Mr.A should be admitted and you will be going home to care for yourself and Grace. Again

Poor Mr A and poor you also Alea do hope they can help him.

I have just been to see a neighbour who had a hysterectomy last Tuesday and was sent home on Wednesday . Short of beds or what?
This is the same hospital I will be having my knee op.

Alea my worries are mostly trivial compared to yours and your poor husband must be so tired of it all
