jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jul-16 15:52:09

I pm'd her just a smile to see if it got through. It did.

Tegan Fri 01-Jul-16 15:49:15

Good of you to pm her jingle; to make peace I assume. So can we all move on now?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jul-16 15:45:51

And, thank you Maggie. Yes. I responded when I saw he post.

I did not deliberately come 'in' - on surely, it's a thread - to simply stir things up. I don't do that. But think what you like Nanaandgrampy.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jul-16 15:43:08

PM her soop. I just did. It said "message sent".

Tegan Fri 01-Jul-16 15:41:49

I've just bought a metal plaque that says 'stress reduction, BANG HEAD HERE'. Please contact me if you want to borrow it....

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 15:39:19

Thanks jings . I would very much like her to return.

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 15:37:33

Charleyg I'm missing tennis. shock Need to get my afternoon fix. I would have likes Poland to win last night. I'm not a fan of soccer...just that Poland was the underdog.

kitty sit yerself down and chill. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jul-16 15:36:16

Stop panicking! She might have left this tread, but she hasn't left Gransnet.

All is well in la la land the kitchen.

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 15:34:42

Received a letter from NHS...'as procedure has not been carried out within specified time' (12 weeks) I can contact PASS and lodge a complaint. The date on which I was told that I was to have the procedure was almost eight months ago. hmm

kittylester Fri 01-Jul-16 15:32:56

Flipping heck! What goes on in here while I'm not looking.

I've been naming cakes so here are the virtual versions of a Victoria Sandwich ( or jamcake as DGS2 says) some really over the top cupcakes with pink icing and glitter and a chocolate sponge with hazelnut buttercream. Now, I need a little rest and I hope peace has been restored, along with Alea, when i wake up. brewbrew

Charleygirl Fri 01-Jul-16 15:32:11

I had better not have a slice of Swiss roll as I have just finished a small almond flavoured ice cream. I decided that it was for medicinal purposes.

I loved seeing photos of the baby and Grace- I will miss those and also how her DH is getting on.

I am afraid that you will have to apply more effort to get rid of me!

I am spoiled for choice this evening between tennis and football, I must watch Wales play. I always go for the underdog!

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 15:18:44

Maggiemaybe Was the Swiss roll to your liking? I'm about to grovel to NanaandGrampy for a decently large slice to enjoy whilst I watch the tennis match.

GandTea Fri 01-Jul-16 15:16:56

I hope not, that would not be a win for anyone. I hope GNHQ will persuade her to remain with her friends.

As I have found, leaving GN is not that easy smile

Alea, if you are reading this, please stay flowers

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 15:16:01

ann She has. Please, let there not be more to follow. A truce is a truce.

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 15:14:31

I am sorry that Alea has decided to leave us. She was good company. She and her husband have been through a very rough time recently. Perhaps, given time and some breathing space, she will return. In the meantime, Alea Please take very good care of yourself. Best wishes to your husband. Cuddle that baby boy and enjoy watching him grow into a fine young man.flowers

annsixty Fri 01-Jul-16 15:13:51

Well JBF has won as I think Alea has left GN sad

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 15:08:56

GandTea The news of your friend's death is very sad. You will have done what little you could for him, 'though it was his choice to remove himself from the companionship of others. No doubt he became depressed when his wife died. Very much like our neighbour. We all need someone to care about us, especially after bereavement. Poor daughter will be blaming herself for his lonely death right now.

annsixty Good for you. Going out for a meal and enjoying a glass of wine, is good for you. Suggest that your husband orders a half portion in future. Try to have an evening out more often.

millymouge (hug)

Welcome, Elrel I trust that you'll enjoy our company.

Charleyg You should write a blog. Not a day passes without something to make you either weep or smile happens around your house. Cats are canny creatures. Tara will cope until things are fixed. And, don't you ^dare* stand on a chair or climb a ladder. shock

Maggiemaybe Fri 01-Jul-16 15:08:26

Well, I'll happily share the lovely Swiss roll, Nanaandgrampy, but I'll take it with me if you don't mind smile

soop Fri 01-Jul-16 14:34:11

Good afternoon...I've just returned from the weekly trip to Campbeltown. At first glance, I can see that stuff is happening that may have upset some of you lot. I am going to read through every post in due course. I need a wee and a coffee and there's a match that I wish to enjoy from Wimbledon.

Please, let us not continue with whatever it is that has brewed since I was last in the kitchen (yesterday afternoon). Jingle and I had a bit of a spat. We apologised to each other. There is no need for bad feelings to exist and continue. Please, can we agree that to make trouble for each other - albeit with ill-chosen comments, will make us feel lousy/sad/frustrated/angry...and no good will come of it.

I'm off for the wee. I shall return very soon. smile

NanaandGrampy Fri 01-Jul-16 14:32:13

I'm sorry but Alea didn't bring a barney in.

She was obviously frustrated from a different thread , came in , stated her issue to let off steam . That's not a barney . It's a statement of fact.

jings came in to stir it up - which is her happy place as seen if you peruse across various threads. She has every right to come on this thread , the same as Alea .

The difference is she won't get either the traction or the encouragement she might find on other threads. This is a peaceful place- where cake and kindness reign.

We do play nicely here as you said , but we're not an easy target either.

And to prove we're nice - I've just got a chocolate Swiss roll out of the box and I'm willing to share :-)

Maggiemaybe Fri 01-Jul-16 14:18:24

Oh no, this isn't fair! I'm not staying, so don't set off the intruder alert, but it was Alea who brought the barney in, not jingl:

30-Jun-16 16:19:02
Well!! Large vitriols and tonics all round, only not in -here thank God. What a mouth a certain person has on her, needs washing out with soap and water my mum would have said.
Take no notice, nice people , some people are never happy unless they are picking a fight.
angryangry

Come on, kindly kitcheners, start playing nicely.

Alea Fri 01-Jul-16 14:14:20

Yes. Why are you in there

Fine, I'll take myself off then. Happy now?

What pleasure dos it give you to insult me as well as to insult Soop (your "saint" jibe) and to disrupt what WAS a friendly haven from the sniping and backbiting elsewhere?
Well done, may it bring you joy.

NanaandGrampy Fri 01-Jul-16 13:44:05

Oooh you are an imp Jingl*

Definition of imp : mischievous troublemaker smile

Alea Fri 01-Jul-16 13:22:06

Kind intervention Charleygirl but let's not bring a barney into the Kitchen smile
(Whatever floats somebody's boat)

Charleygirl Fri 01-Jul-16 12:56:35

jingl there is no necessity to be so rude. Alea is having a hard time at present as are many others. With her DH being readmitted yet again, she can do without you making comments like that. She has enough on her plate and comes here to take her mind off the problems that she has. A little light relief is good for anybody and many here have more problems than I could dream of- could you possibly respect that please?
