As always, I have Radio 4 on in the office, and this morning is full live coverage of the Queen's 90th birthday celebration in Westminster Abbey (I think). Gosh, poor soul, what a dreary, dismal po faced service it is. It is supposed to be a celebration! I know there wouldn't be balloons and party poppers and there are other events, but golly this is sooooooo dreary......all that organ music...

I can't sort out al the problems of the human race, and I doubt if the queen can either.

Back to the roastchicken smile

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jun-16 11:48:19

Well, I don't ignore the homeless. Dunno about you missis.

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 11:42:19

We have no idea what her wealth is Jingle. So we ignore the homeless etc because it's just how it is

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jun-16 11:33:33

Sorry Luce!

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jun-16 11:33:00

That post is presented with all the amiability I can muster on a damp old day in June. smile flowers cupcake wine brew sunshine and Mwah.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jun-16 11:31:02

ab do you really think that if the queen gave all her wealth to housing the present day homeless on our streets, there wouldn't be more come along to take their place? Homelessness mostly down to break up of family relationships. In other words, human nature.

Just one chip Tegan.

Morning everyone,

Tensions seem to running fairly high at the moment on several threads, so I'm just popping in with a reminder that, while there's no way we'll all agree on every issue (where's the fun in that?), we do ask that members keep general Ps & Qs in mind when posting to each other. A difference in opinions is fine, debate is fine...but please do bear in mind our rules when adding a comment.

Thanks all flowers

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 10:19:21

Tegan, on this forum it depends on who is being mocked ,

Tegan Tue 14-Jun-16 10:04:38

So why did you find jingles comments about chips so funny GandTea? Was that 'amiable'?

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 10:02:33

GrandTea, do you mean we should ignore personal attacks , not defend when accused of things which are not true?

GandTea Tue 14-Jun-16 09:58:12

OMG. WE seem to have the worst of GN in yet another thread, why can't you all be amiable instead of squabbling like a load of school children.

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 09:53:07

Rosina, I agree they had no choice of birth but they have choice how they live their lives

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 09:47:31

True nobody does it like us, they got rid of theirs

Rosina Tue 14-Jun-16 09:45:07

Whatever you think of royalty, none of them had any choice about their birth. They can either 'get on with it' and play the game or opt out - as some have done - and attempt to have a low profile life (or as best a life as you can when the press hound relentlessly) The Queen would seem to have not put a foot wrong in all her years as Monarch. That alone accords her some respect, and she has generated international political goodwill, tourism, and the whole royal set up has provided everyone who wants it with such brilliant spectacle and pageantry. Nobody, absolutely nobody, does it like us. We are envied our royal family by countries who have expensive and often dubious presidents.

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 09:38:24

Merlotgran, you claim desperate, wrong, I am speaking the truth

merlotgran Tue 14-Jun-16 09:36:05

Your posts are beginning to sound slightly desperate, anniebach

roastchicken

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 09:34:01

Yes Ascot this week, queenie can use a mobility scooter to get to the paddock, expect she will claim mobility allowance and lots if colour for Jingle too

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jun-16 09:29:37

Do you really want to take over another thread jenty61, with your attacks on me?

Sorry roastchicken

Jenty61 Tue 14-Jun-16 09:19:24

no brickbats I assure you I just find your attacking comments to posters unwarranted and downright rude!

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jun-16 09:17:05

Shall we leave the usual brickbats out of this jenty61? It's beginning to get just a little bit odd. grin

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jun-16 09:14:25

So - you think we should keep the monarchy? confused

Jenty61 Tue 14-Jun-16 09:13:46

seems to be a regular thing on here Anniebach with rude attacks fron Jingles if she doesnt agree with posters comments...gets quite tiresome!

Anniebach Tue 14-Jun-16 09:10:33

Then you enjoy the colour Jingle and think how comforted the homeless are because you feel truly sorry for them , Sod the fact there is no colour in their lives

I have never said we should get rid of the monarchy so do not try the communist nonsense when attacking me

I have never said getting rid of the monarchy would solve all the ills

merlotgran Tue 14-Jun-16 09:09:35

Cheer up, jingl. There'll be a bit more colour when Royal Ascot begins today and the Queen will be doing her bit once again.

Of course, nobody will benefit from the racing industry putting on such a huge show. hmm
