Me again. I've just talked to DD who told be about DGS1 being felled by a flying gazebo! It made me laugh but really it was very dangerous. They were at a Bank Holiday Fair, sitting on a wall enjoying an ice cream. DD looked round and saw that the RSPB gazebo was coming their way. All the adults grabbed a child but DGS was too far away and was knocked off the wall. He has a badly scratched side, leg and a huge lump on his head. He is also quite traumatised (but he is a great worrier!)

I asked if they were going to complain to someone and she said they didn't have the heart as the chap who was manning the stall was distraught and kept saying 'But I checked the wind speed and weighted it down accordingly' We'll all laugh about it another day!

I need a lie down!!

Oh dear, your poor friend can have the bottle! That's the sort of scenario I was dreading.
At least I can't be blamed now if you get in a mess crossing everything

Can you work your magic for my friend who had sold her house but can't find another one, has given the tenant in their apartment notice (the apartment is their pension!), started packing, her husband has sliced a tendon in his hand, which is now irreparable, she does yet more packing because he can't and now her buyer has backed out. I'll give her some of your gin and tonic if you can share it.

I'm just enjoying a large G&T but I make no apologies because I've just had a call from the house agents! The lady buying my house is coming on Friday at 6pm to take measurements! Everything is progressing nicely!

I wrote a post yesterday which seems to have gotten lost in the ether of the Internet !!

So here goes again..... Grampys gout is much better , almost gone but he will have to look at diet etc when we return home as he doesn't want a repeat ! My itchy toe is also fine, those no see ums are little buggers!

Crafting you might want to hold off on that cuddle with Sam. Our young friends returned him to our daughter and the boys now they're home. The trouble is they tend to love him a little too much and for Cavaliers , loving means food! So yesterday, he disgraced himself indoors ( much to the delight of 2 little boys for whom poo is a source of humour). So he is on a day free of food before going on a bland chicken and rice diet for a few days. Maybe after that you might like that cuddle!

We had early morning visitors yesterday , A mum and 4 baby ducks Sadly, I think there were 6 babies before. Grampy has taken on the job of cleaning the pool , I think he misses being busy ( unlike me !).

I did try and post a picture but the internet is not loving me today!!

alea, oh yes, we don't have them now, younger son does and I have been using them as a rain predictor.

Anyone who wants rain for their garden can have some of ours. Just been out for an hour and soaked through. Coat and clothes all now hanging in the bathroom to drip. Ugh wet cold and I what some of your sunshine Soop but at least your lovely photos have cheered me up. What a beautiful part of the country you live.

Kinetic memory? Ah, I wonder if that explains why I can drive to somewhere I know well, but for the life of me could not give directions there to anybody else?
(I do sometimes get lost, too)

I used to dance a lot, gand, and teach it. I was still awful at remembering dance names or what the written instructions said, but once I started dancing it seemed to come back. I think that might be called kinetic memory. I experienced that when playing the harp too: one's fingers seemed to remember what to do when one played a tune a lot.

dusty, could that bush be broom? I don't know of a bird's-foot trefoil that grow so large. I have Greater Bird's-foot trefoil in my garden but it is just a smallish plant still rather than a bush.

I'm fine with my diary, thanks to Google. The postit note in my books enable me to track the story. When I come across a character for the first time, I stick a postit note in the page, then when they pop up again and I can't remember who they were, I can quickly re-read that part again -- can take me a while to read some books.
Just feeling inadequate atm.
Dancing tonight, hope I can remember the steps, which foot I start with. (or more to the point, which dance were we learning last.)

You have my sympathy, but don't compound your disappointment by stressing about the bigger picture.
Post -it notes, events writ large on the calendar, reminders on your phone, even a trusty friend recruited as "social secretary" might help perhaps?
If it's not written down it doesn't happen for me, but DH swears by his calendar on his iPad the difficulty is when one of us (him) doesn't tell the other or one of us (him) books something on a day when he knows (or should know) I am committed elsewhere.

Feeling very low today. Twice in the last three days my poor memory has prevented me from participating in something that I had passionately wanted to do.
I don't have dementia, but memory has always been a problem, I have to use postit notes to keep track of characters when I read books, and never have been able to remember names. My brother had the same problem, I am Aphantasic as is my son, my brother may have been the same.

Lovely photos yet again Soop, I think we sat at that very table, but the deer wasn`t there then, just a group of very inquisitive ducks lurking around our feet.
Alea, so pleased to hear your wasps have been dealt with. I don`t know what I`d do if any came here, one is enough to send me into a screaming panic!

Galen sounds like your dgd1 is well prepared. It doesn't seem 2 minutes since you were looking forward to her arrival.

Been out most of the day but we managed to catch a phone call from old friends, good friends, that we had forgotten are holidaying near by. We are seeing them tomorrow and having a meal with them.

Glad you have had sunshine soop, I think you must have had ours yesterday, it was cold and showery here. Completely different today, I think summer might have finally arrived.
MacSporran does indeed look very chirpy, holding up the trees. I didn't know if he was the 'dear' you were referring to.

Does anyone know if a birdsfoot trefoil or similar plant can grow quite tall? I took a photograph last month of a very pretty bush with similar flower that was smothering a fig tree.

BTW, this our new fairy door and inhabitants. Not the good little fairies I had hope for, right troublesome pair.

Last year, when we over sowed, it took 3/4 weeks before we saw new shoots, the soil is not that warm yet.

GandTea I put grass seed down nearly 2 weeks ago to fill in the gaps where we have taken the moss out and nothing has come up :-(
