Just a brief pop in as we are leaving the lovely villa today and heading back up to Disneys Grand Floridian for our last week. It's their flagship resort so we have high hopes lol

I am so sorry to hear of the debacle soop I can well imagine the feeling of helplessness with such poor processes. I hope it's all sorted though without more stress to you .

Ps 6am view from my chair as I drink my coffee. I'm going to miss this !!

Winter is here again- it is around 11 degrees C but next week it is going to be 28C+. I hope not to moan that I am too hot. I have won £25 from my premium bonds- at least it is something.

I went into my local shopping centre this am. The 2 lifts were not working- W H Smith looked as though they had not paid the last electricity bill because the store was so dark. I went next door to BHS to look at night attire, I never did find it. The loos are usually close by but not today, they have moved. There is only one up and one down escalator. A trip to the new loos and home. I did not spend any money.

It's a fabulous day. 25C when we went for our daily walk.

Alea aren't the drawings beautiful? I especially like the vivid colours in one and the soft pastel shades of the other.

The supplement was waiting at the village shop. Doctor had arranged for the tablets to be waiting when we called in for the newspaper.

We met our pal (husband had the recent stroke) as she was motoring through the village. She had been to visit her husband. He didn't recognise her. He was slumped in a chair and was wearing a bib. He was dribbling. You can imagine how she was feeling.

I'm going to watch a little tennis. I shall return in due course.

Tizliz. Our grass seed it just starting to sprout, 3 weeks since we sowed it.

A bright, breezy day. I had to take the car in to have a mysterious warning light investigated, hoping that it won't deprive me of an arm and/or a leg. Can't face watching the lunchtime news, so tennis on TV with Djokovic playing Berdych who, like a number of other players, is wearing zebra stripes which you'd think would be somewhat distracting.

Alea. Get into assert mode. The phlebotomist should be able to get a medic to agree to a full blood count esp as your husband's temperature is up and down. 37 not really high and maybe that's just how he is, but in view of procedure next week you'd want to be sure everything's ok. Hope your blood pressure and sanity levels ok. I'm not sure about mine!

Hope you have recovered from yesterday's upset, soop. Have a hug from an old pal.

Ocular migraines are terrifying. Minibags had her first when she was only twelve. She thought she was going blind! Fortunately I recognised it as probably being migraine and was able to reassure her that it would pass.

Haven't had a chance to catch up due to packing (probably all the wrong things) for the cruise, and having a poorly DGD asleep on my knee all afternoon yesterday. She has asthma and yesterday was a bad day for the poor mite.

I'm very cross with whoever it was who reduced our soop to tears. It's just not on. I hope things get sorted out very soon as it is not fair to keep people hanging on and being messed about.

and gentle (((hugs))) soop . I hope watching Andy cheered you up somewhat.

Today promises to be a busy one Chez Moi. The kitchen is being fitted, also the doors on bedrooms and bathrooms, plus roller shutters on the windows. Yippee! Mind you, I shall believe it when I see it. The door people said they would be starting at 7 am, so I duly dragged myself out of bed early, but it is now 7.18 and no sign of them as yet.

Love the pictures alea, sounds a wonderful visit. No complaints about that sort of trashing! How is the baby now? Any easier to settle? Does sound as if your DH is incubating something, you may need to be firm . I'm fairly new to the world of iPad. I quickly decided that mine has a desire for world dominance. It changes just about everything to suit itself. I send some seriously odd messages. Trouble is it is also so useful it gets forgiven. Can you collude with an iPad? . I'm wide awake at silly o'clock listening to the birds. If the weather person is telling the truth we will have some here, hope it's the same for you all. Settling to read my book now. It's not so bad waking early. .

I should be in bed as I am shattered after a lovely visit from D, SIL and the 3 DGC this afternoon/evening. The head been visiting the new day in London on their way home from Somerset (I know, Somerset > E London> N Bucks, then > Birmnghamb is a bit of a detour) but DGS1 had been very sad not to see his baby cousin last week because of course it was still term time.
Anyway, they came, they trashed Granny's lounge, we all had tea together then they had their baths and got into their pj's to drive home.Actually they didn't really trash the joint (much!) the 2 boys disappeared off to the kitchen to do some colouring (favourite occupation) leaving Pippa to play with the toy toolkit
You have been in the wars my fellow Kitcheners! to you all. The ocular migraine sounds terrifying , DH had something similar once, but he said it was lie a shutter coming down which fortunately went up again within a few minutes.
Soop the shambles of your treatment by the NHS is appalling, even if they don't superb job mefically, there is none use for administrative incompetence especially when it causes such distress.
Bellanonna I may need to "assert" myself soon as I am wondering if my DH is incubating something. His temperature has been over 37 on 3 days now but also drops to below normal at times and he is breathless and so exhausted. No rigors though, if that starts it's an ambulance again. He got up just before the family arrived, got dressed then went back to bed at 8.30 after they had gone. Good thing he has another blood test tomorrow, but it is only to measure his Hb, I don't know if they will do a full set of bloods to see if there is an infection. He has a cardiac procedure booked at the John Radcliffe in Oxford next week but obviously if he is not well, they can't go ahead.

soop. With you all the way on that one. You've been on an emotional roller coaster and finally something just gives. anno's idea was a good one. Google the hospital and see who you can complain to. As I said recently, DH had a third bout of urosepsis which started10 days ago. When it started I drove up to the surgery and spoke with a new doctor whom I've never seen before. She told me to go straight home and ring 999, even offered to do it for me. I burst into tears because she was being so nice and because I was so worried. She then hugged me. Feel I must write a little note to her. Without her encouragement I might not have called an ambulance. So I understand your emotional reaction only too well. Sadly it's the admin thst lets the NHS down and causes us all such irritation. But the expert service on the whole is very good. I do hope you can get the surgery sorted and I'm sure the secretary will work on your behalf to get the problems ironed out. I've had so very much of this and have used so much energy dealing with these situations.
Glad you shared your frustrations with us as I'm sure lots of us can empathise with you.

lona definitely sounds like migraine, have had a few episodes myself - go to doctor if you get it again.

So pleased your medical appointment was finally sorted, soop, but can totally understand how the letter would have thrown you, I'd have been positively overturned! lona, goodness what a scary thing to happen with your sight. Sight is so precious. Waitrose did the trick this afternoon, the cafe called so tea and a scone accompanied the shopping. Excellent! I'm now off to the real lemon and almond cake, oh dear, still it is gluten free so won't hurt me.

soop did I read correctly- did Rory spend the day in the garden? Did you transfer that lovely sofa with his rug on it outside because he could not possibly sit or lie on the hard ground!!!! Sunshine is a rare commodity in NW London. We do not expect sunshine until Sunday. There may be a bus load coming in your direction!!!
