Was you a 4 Tops or Tempations Fan

OK I missed a t in temptations , despite the rivalry between the groups , like mentions of the Temps and the Sups this was done when both groups had seen member changes , were Jean Terrell led the new Supremes.
Also favourites of mine was the Marvin Gaye duets firstly with Kim Weston with " It Takes Two" and "Two can have a party " and then the Tammi Terrell songs of "Your all I need to get by", The Onion Song , although he did duet with Dianna Ross as well.

My own experience of Motown the Musical , I want to see it again, I liked the 2nd act opening with Ball of Confusion and how it was put across.
Motown act wise , I have seen 4 tops in 1969/70 at Brum Hippodrome , Stevie Wonder at the Gaumont in Wolves plus Jimmy Ruffin.
Also note as to some current BBC TV programme plugs they are using Motown songs.
Have been a fan from the 60`s , and I used to be involved in a small way whilst in the RAF , with a magazine called Blues & Soul.
I joined Motown Ad Astra an appreciation society, and used the have contact with Sharon Davies who ran this UK based thing, she actually wrote a book some years ago about Motown, and just recently I have just acquired the book written by Berry Gordy in paperback form for a price as it was written in the 90`s, which inspired Motown the Musical.

Have always been a huge Motown fan especially Diana Ross whom I've seen a few times but my all time favourite track is Heard it Through the Grapevine.
I've seen Motown the musical and Motown Tour.
Same great music in both of course. I preferred Motown Tour as that is just non stop music, and had me singing and dancing in my seat.
I spoke to a lady in the bar who said "you know you have to sing" I said "Try stopping me !"
If I hear Motown I can't stop myself singing along

I love all Motown Music. My favourite is Stevie Wonder who really comes under the title of Soul. I've seen him a number of times and he doesn't disappoint.

All the words to these great classics just come flooding back.

I agree 'Just my Imagination' is such a good song as well as 'I heard it on the grapevine' and 'How sweet it is'.

Both! We saw them both a few times and they were great. I suppose at a push it would be the Temptations! We have a great album with the Supreme and Tempations together.

I don't know - just been looking at a few of their songs on youtube and they make me laugh - great fun!

Hi! I loved both - but my favourite track within that was the very gentle Just My Imagination by The Temptations. I was, and still am, a massive Walker Brothers fan though!
