It looks like Microsft are trying a last push to get us to have Windows whilst its free

I don't .ike Windows 10, happy with Windows 7 but really worried I may have to buy a new lap top next month and will be stuck with 10, is there no way this can be avoided ?

I tried Windows 10, hated it and reverted back to Windows 8. I object to the fact that I am being bullied by persistent popups to upgrade. Made everything run slowly which defeated the object of having fibre optic broadband.
I know that I will have to give in eventually but not without a fight !!

10 would not accept my printer despite downloading recommended updates!

If you are sure that it is W10 that has stopped your CD working, you will probably need to download w10 drivers for you CD.

W10 may download, but it won't install without your permission.

I downloaded Windows 10 several months ago, but I haven't installed it as I don't trust it. My DH installed it on his laptop and had nothing but trouble afterwards, although it was a rather old machine and was already rather slow and difficult. He has since bought a new laptop with Windows 8 installed and I think he's going to be sticking to it!

OH has put W10 on a computer, and now the CD drives do not work - brilliant!

Beware!!! I left my laptop on this morning while I went out and when I came back it was very sneakily downloading Windows 10 without so much as a by your leave and it was 86% done. You do not have to "Accept" it though and as long as you don't agree with terms and conditions you should be OK.

OH suggested I might as well face the inevitable and continue.

It does not seem to have caused much disruption yet. Most of my bookmarks etc are in place and Firefox is still working as it Gransnet. It will be a learning curve but so was windows eight.

Windows 7 will still work, even when it is no longer supported. I am still using Windows XP on my server, does the job just like it always did.

I have Windows 10 downloaded onto my desktop pc but haven't installed it because of hearing negative comments.
We are holding onto Windows 7 as long as possible although there will probably come a time when there are no longer updates for 7 and we will have to move forwards.

I had so many problems with 10 , I actually had to PAY someone to sort it ??

I can't upgrade even if I wanted to - been advised by both the business banking system and our IT which is run from the US that none of our programs are yet compatible with it but my husband downloaded it on his new laptop and isn't keen on it. I still haven't updated my mac with the latest OS either as I've heard varying reports about it. Sure we'll get round to it at some point though.

I'm still on Windows 7, never had an option to download W10, but Norton constantly keeps trying to download something compatible with W10, and I can't get rid of the blasted thing!
Fortunately I'm usually on my tablet, which is no trouble at all! ?

Ana, you can download it while it is still free, you don't have to install it until you want to.

Every time I turn my computer on I get a message about downloading Windows 10 - I am resisting! Perfectly happy with Windows 7 and won't change until I absoutely have to.

Not a fan. Never had a problem with Windows before but I have had to reload w10 and I am still having problems.

I quite like Windows 10 too, it's so different it took a bit of getting used to. Seems to run very well with all my programs.

IMO W10 is the best windows so far, once it has fully updates it is far more stable than previous versions. I have Windows XP in my blood, but would bot go back now.

Once you to get to grips with Windows 10 , I think its OK. I didn't like 8 initially but its just a case of finding out where everything is again.

I've found it to be very stable and I've had it since the Beta version.

They can chuck as much free stuff at me as they like but I'm never going back to Windows. Apple all the way since I left work.

My friend upgraded to Windows 10 and it took up too much room so she's ditched it and had Linux installed now.

Windows 10 is driving me mad.

My pc is very keen to update itself to Windows 10. Should I let it? I've heard good and bad about it. Any suggestions welcome.
