I too wot did the ring thing but having read up , the 'magic' is just the pressure lol but at this stage we are willing to try anything. He now has a multi vitamin daily in case his immune system needs a boost, and he's a healthy little eater. He has had antibiotic cream so think we'll just pop into a Centra Care and see if they will prescribe it.

My other thought was warm cotton pad on the eye every 30 mins or so to soften the headend hopefully encourage it to burst as his eye is semi closed .

Anyway, today he is off to meet Optimus Prine with Mum and Dad and we have the little chap for the day. I see a trip to the park and then a treat before lunch and with luck an afternoon nap for all as the boys are still on UK time and were up at 4am !!

A healthy 75 degrees here today ( I think I'm still on old measurements lol) .

NanaandGrampy the pool looks very inviting and Jackson is having a great time.

His stye is caused by the bug staphylococcus aureus and usually does not need treatment but antibiotic eye drops prescribed by your doctor (a tad difficult where you are) usually does the trick if he is rarely free of the problem. Has he got crusty eyelids? He could have blepheritis. (spelling?) Maybe get the eyes looked at when you come home again? I do not know of any other treatment, old wives or other I am afraid. I can sympathise as I had that problem during childhood and teenage years. I also could not keep my hands off it!

We are expecting T of 26C in London on Sunday- cannot wait- look what you are missing?!

There used to be an ointment called 'Golden Eye Ointment' that was good. Happy Hols ?

The sun shone on us today but yesterday's rain left the pool chilly so only Jackson and I braved the pool at 7am but I have attached a picture !!

I do have a question for you all ... Jackson aged 4 has a huge problem with styes on his eyes. They don't seem to trouble him but he has had too many to count in the months leading up to Christmas and now another one that is positively huge.

The doctor said it was just one of those things and nothing could be done, so any old fashioned remedies you can think of? Anything that might help?

Just got my iPad back from having its broken screen fixed (DGD accidentally dropped it) so haven't had time to catch up with all your goings-on.

Just want to wish soop and MacS a really happy family reunion. Shall look forward to hearing all about it and, hopefully, seeing some photos on your return.

I'm on the border of Hampshire and Sussex and it's warm in the sun but a strong cool breeze is making it a bit chilly out of the sun. I always recommend layers when it's like this so don't come expecting it to be cracking the flags dear soop!

Hair needs washing. Final faffing with the wee bag that I shall be taking to Sussex. My son won't be able to believe his eyes. Once...very many years ago, I had three suitcases to take to Crete. I was very much fitter in those days.

As for frustration with technology...it took us almost as long to do something fairly straightforward. I was almost in tears at the end. My language was indigo blue. MacS raised an eyebrow several times.

I heartily recommend baby wipes for removing the odd spot. annsixty, can't say I understand your diagnosis, but isn't it good to get one? For me a diagnosis makes any ailment feel more manageable, hope its the same for you. There seems to be a lot of positive about, which is wonderful. I know there is not yet a sensible offer on your home Lona but you are getting the viewings and you only need one person to offer you a sensible price and go ahead, fingers are crossed for you. I can well remember my frustration during our last house move, interestingly the couple I was sure hated the house offered a good price and it all went through relatively easily, shows how wrong I can be. We've a lovely sunny day today, all washing dried and ironed, hooray. Doesn't take much to make me happy. My moan of the day is technology, needed to change passwords on four email accounts. 20 minutes I thought - huh, three hours later with a blinding headache I accomplished it on all 5 devices that needed adjusting. Surely it should be easier? I guess operator error was in there somewhere but I refuse to take the blame for it all. The day went smoothly enough after that, though, so I'm trying to see it as a learning experience , certainly a more polite description that the one I used this morning.

Trust you to want those hunky young men in your bedrooms Galen and it. sounds as though you'd have no problem chasing after them in your luggie too! ?
