Well you turn your back for five minutes and your kitchen has moved when you get back[in a spin] emoticon!
Glad everybody is sounding as cheerful as can be expected (do you sound like Fenella Fielding of the gravelly voice yet, nanaandgrampy??)
Hope the throat is getting better but in the meantime you could supplement the pension by doing voice overs for slightly suggestive products on TV!!
I have not really been able to do any granny duty up in Brum since last summer while DH has been at his current level of health and so it was lovely to be able to pop up for a day yesterday, if "pop" is the right word for getting up at sparrow fart to spend 2 hours on the motorway while idiots decided to hold us up by having accidents all over the place). Lovely welcome from the little ones who were waiting at the window - no doubt judging granny's rubbish parking- but HUGE hugs made up for any buggeration of driving.
DD had a couple of hours at the hairdresser then we had lunch together. One DGS commented that all it needed was for Daddy and Grandpa to be there too to make it perfect. Aah.
It was such a treat to get away for the day -am I dreadful to say that? DH survived, but clearly did not cope as well as I had hoped as he had not eaten the "easy" things I had left - quiche for lunch and a steak pie for supper, instead made himself a leftover lamb sandwich and forgot to eat in the evening at all. That was a blow/reality check and I came down to earth with a bump as I really thought I had covered all the angles. Occupational Therapy had sent someone round to deliver 2 raised loo seats, "elephants feet" for DH's armchair and dining chair and handrails to replace my lovely green ropes on the stairs.
Necessary, I fear but I did like the stylish ropes. The bare wood handrails look horrid and institutional, but I will wax them to darken the wood and hope they will blend in quite soon.
Exhausted, so now having a lie in with my second cup of tea and trying to catch up on all that has been going on.
