dustyangel I watched Beechgrove garden last night - does that constitute doing gardening?

Well I fee like an April Fool for losing a long post I had just done, so here are some wild flowers for everyone because I can't be bothered to type it all again.

soop you will be pleased to know that I've started on our garden, I've bought a Portuguese gardening magazine.
Seriously we've chopped back an oleander bush and got DH's great nephew in to do some clearing and pulling and strimming. I've managed to persuade DH that thi s better than spraying the winter growth with weed killer.

I hope you and the others get over this horrid bug soon.

Lona that sounds great. I do not understand people who want to move to the great outdoors where one bus a week runs and a hospital is a day's journey. Different if one lived there for many years but not to move there in one's dotage.

I also like to be close to shops etc. I was brought up in the middle of nowhere in Scotland as a child but hated it, could not wait to get to a city after leaving school.

I intend to stay locally Charleygirl as I've lived here longer than anywhere. Friends and some family are here and the medical care is excellent. I'm hoping to rent an apartment as central as possible. I can walk to the centre at the moment, lots of restaurants, cafés, shops and hairdressers etc.

soop and grannylyn I echo what has been said already. you are no longer 21 or even 40 so you take longer to get better. A dram during the day would not go amiss and you may even feel better. Certainly one before bed will hopefully help. Will the pair of you please rest!!! Take a leaf out of Rory's book, you do not see him suffering from any ailments. He knows how to look after himself with loads of rest.

Lona that is great and with luck the sold sign will be outside soon. Have you somewhere to where you want to move? I am aware that it is not by choice.

Well, I've taken the plunge and instructed the (very professional) estate agent to start the selling procedure, and they are coming at lunch time to measure up!

Well done, Charley, on getting the better of all that packaging. Even small packages from Amazon threaten my feeble fingernails. I have an old computer chair, inherited from my late uncle, which is really redundant as I use a laptop all the time. I do hope you poorly 'soopsters* throw off those awful bugs which I fear may be internet viruses and I could be catching one even now. There's a thought!
We had the most fantastic sunrise this morning but it has now turned grey and nondescript. Maybe there's something in the old saying that 'Red sky in the morning is the shepherd's warning.'

I'm feeling heaps better which is lucky as a long awaited 'playdate' with 3 of our 4 little ones is happening today. That involves lots of picking up and dropping off, a lunch munch picnic at our hour before an afternoon swimming and playing . Then back to ours for the dinner of choice and then a sleepover for the bigger two and probably a disgruntled 4 year old who will not want to leave .

I shall see you all here tomorrow if we survive ;-)

However I am very sorry to hear that you and grannylyn are both still poorly. And I am thinking you both need to listen to your bodies and rest until you pick up again. We don't bounce back in our middle years the way we used to when the children were little (and frankly we HAD TO) so please, please do not store up future trouble by doing too much too soon.

Hi pompa. Sounds as though your GS had a good time with you. Hope things go well with your visit to the consultant. Have you got a scan booked yet?

I am actually sitting in my new computer chair. I decided that I had been out shopping for a couple of items, done an on line shop for next week, switched on the dishwasher, so there was nothing much else I could do but attack that beast. I ended up cutting and/or ripping the cardboard. At present it is displayed over the floor, I hope that Tara does not decide to come home now because she likes order.

It certainly was not easy to get out of the box unless I am getting feeble in my old age. At least I do not have to put the thing together which would be impossible.

I must look for instructions- it is a tad low for me but if it cannot be raised so be it.

At least it is comfortable and does not take up too much space. I have ordered plastic sheeting to preserve my laminate flooring. Silly me thought that it would come with the chair as it was ordered from the same firm.

Hi Kitcheners, not had a lot to say for a while. Been without a car for a few days, seemed like I'd lost a leg. w and up in Leicester looking after GS, knackered. Took him to see The Cat In The Hat this afternoon, he enjoyed that.
Got an appointment to see consultant re my kidney pain next week although I guess I will not know much until they do a scan.

I am adding my contribution of a Carluccio's Colomba which we traditionally have at Easter (as well as Simnel Cake, and HCBs of course) I love its lightness of texture all those bubbles contain no calories whatsoever.
I have waxed the new handrails with Bri-wax (Oak colour) an they look much better and less institutional. It's a start anyway.
But gosh am I tired! Must be the driving yesterday ( 2 rambunctuous little boys and a Duracell bunny 18 month old little sister would have had nothing to do with it!)'

Just popping my head round the door to say Hi, nothing happening here so I might just see if there is some cake going spare ...

I shall log off and return after tomorrow's visit to the care home.

grannylyn I've been to bed this afternoon. The bug is a buggeration. Saps all the energy from you. So sorry to hear that you feel poorly. I hope that the sun is shining for you and that you are on the road to recovery.

Wave as you arrive and leave Tilbury Numbers we live just a few miles away !! If you are using the M25 junction with the A13 as part of your route, there are road works which might impact you slightly so do allow a little extra time. I can pm you the details if it helps.

Lona we have to do this later on in the year and we're having some decorating done. If the hooha that packing up just 2 units in the dining room is anything to go by I shall be moving out for the duration !!!

Charleygirl its a shame you live a distance away because I have a small boy who would love your cardboard box and I would have cheerfully lent you Himself to do the necessary unpacking. I hope you manage ok .

soop I'm feeling much better now , amazing what 2 days antibiotics do for a girl. I shall finish my rest time today for tomorrow its swimming day ( delayed because I was unwell) there will also be a picnic ( indoors if its chilly) and some dog walking and then special dinner ( bangers and mash for some and salmon and wilted spinach for others ( I love their eclectic tastes!!) Then a sleepover which will involve a movie and a bag of Nanas infamous 'Movie Munch' !

Galen, we`re sailing from Tilbury. Daughter 3 is taking us, she needs to study the bumph they`ve sent us, so she can find the way OK. Then daughter 2 has to do the same for when she picks us up when we get back to Tilbury.

The saga next door continues! Anne's daughter lives in France with her 7year old and her partner. She was due to fly back to Antibes today to relieve her partner who is a marine engineer currently working on a boat in Barcelona.
Guess what? French on strike!
She's managed to get a flight from gatwick ( instead of Bristol) so panic to get a taxi to take her to gatwick. Fortunately my regular driver Bob has stepped up to the mark and she's en route!
