Soop's friendly KITCHENERS

Back from a performance of King Lear at the Royal Exchange, Don Warrington in the lead but the rest of the cast were very good too. It was, as far as I could see, the complete text which I know pretty well, having taught it umpteen times and never grown tired of it. It's my second favourite Shakespeare play, the first being Antony and Cleopatra.

I hope all you ailing people get well there seems to be so many nasty long lasting bugs around. My daughter son, in law and the babyDGS2 have all been really poorly this week, however three yr old DGS1has been fine.

The baby had a temperature of over 40C last night at which point you are supposed to seek medical attention for a little one so an early hours outing to the childrens hospital. They are all exhausted, the baby not so hot now but is totally miserable.

? No way! x 10 at least after today!

I have heaps Crafting but it is long life semi skimmed and I am not sure if many people like it in tea. I only drink coffee so it makes no difference to me.

NO MILK MAN! Tired because all the tribunals these days are PIP and they all seem to be for psychiatric cases, which the PIP descriptors do not adequately address, and the decision makers do not understand.
This means the tribunal hearings are long, exhausting on both sides and very tiring.
By the end of a day I am really exhausted

Alea I could not agree more, there will be consequences if soop does not rest. Torben would be heartbroken and we would not receive updated photos of that handsome some man if soop was not able to visit.

Had a nap and feel heaps better for having got warmer.

I just needed to reassure you lovely lot that we had checked with our Care Home pal (and his wife) to make sure that it was okay to visit. Both have the same complaint. We sat apart from other residents, many were coughing and feeling jaded. So, just in case you were thinking...Soop is a selfish wotsit...I'm not at all. MacSporran gave me the bug. He's holding up well. Bless him.
The waitress at the Royal was off duty with "the throat". The one serving us...had it too. Her voice was more like a whisper. Buggerations all round.

My dogs love these, but as we are on an economy drive this month they are having Tesco's variety. The reasons for the economy drive are long and painful.

When our dog was ill our vet (illegally) recommended omeprazole. It is one of the EC rules that medication has to be tested for humans to be used on humans and then tested separately to be used on animals. Once something has 'for pets' on it it at least doubles the price. So it is not a good idea to go to the pet shop for your medication .

So sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, soop. We all love you and hold you in the highest esteem, so please take care and get well soon

I read that as medication from the vet for soop's poorly pal and have to say that when Grace was poorly, I was impressed by the ease of her appointments etc. I thought then, "that's private medicine for you" but it would not have occurred to me to buy doggie chews/treats/special biscuits for a bad throat and nasty cough

Seriously, glad to hear you are off to your bed soop and hope you stay there , snug and warm for the afternoon. You have trip down South coming up, so make sure you get well for that.
If you don't behave, some of us might have to take serious action.

After visiting the care home, we enjoyed a coffee and a scone, butter and jam in the Royal hotel. Our Friday treat.

We had some shopping to do in Campbeltown, for our poorly pal (bad throat and nasty cough). Medication from the vet and a big bag of stuff from the shop supplying doggie chews/treats/special biscuits. I was dropped off by MacSporran and he motored on to the Co-op. After he' gone, I discovered that the shop had closed for lunch. Lights on, but no indication of re-opening time. It's blowing a gale and piddling with rain. I stood for half an hour in the doorway...until finally, MacS returned, and we waited a further ten minutes in the car for the shop to open. I was cold and feeling grim. We're home now. I'm returning to my bed. Throat is horrid. Some might say...serves Soop right for not listening to sound advice.

As I said before...I love you lot and I shall return in the morning feeling much improved and in better spirits.

One of my neighbours popped in to mention that some of the children living in the mews have been knocking on the door next door and then running away. M and I intend to nip that in the bud because one, who is 58 has a mental age of around 6 months. Her mother is in her 80's speaks little English, is physically disabled and her brother, a few years younger is trying to keep the family together and can do without this nonsense. I live in an end terrace, M is in the other end terrace and the 3 next door are renting the house in the middle. M and his sister S and I look for our neighbours because children can be so cruel.

M while here kindly tore up my huge cardboard box and it is now binned neatly. A good result all round. M will speak with a couple of the mothers and I will speak with H next door to say that we are on the case.

I have been contemplating what to plant in the tubs- that is the nearest I have come to doing any gardening. It is too cold for my delicate body at present.

I hadn't seen your post earlier Charleygirl I must admit that much as I love it here, (twenty minutes walk to a bus stop and then less that six buses a day) I could easily move to somewhere a lot more central, probably in the UK, but DH just isnt ready for it yet, and would be miserable and probably a lot less fit as well.
