I have had a massive clear out of rubbish. I have lost my birth certificate and 2 cheque books. The latter are easily replaced but not the former and I need it by Monday.

It is amazing what I did find in weird places, my will, marriage certificate and decree absolute so a lot has been achieved. This room looks as though it has been burgled and I have tidied it but there is more to do.

I have decided to have a rest for the evening, have a glass or two of wine with my supper and relax. Tara is home, feeding her face so no worries there.

No different from any other night but seems worse at weekends.

I think I might be the only woman in the world on her own while her so-called partner is holed up in his room at 7.21 on a Saturday night. Feeling sorry for myself.

Soop when you said under the porch I thought you meant under the floor! Had vision of you on the sort of scoot board that mechanics use and sliding in and out - you would have got paint in your hair. Glad I was mistaken ?

We have friends for dinner so I have been rushing around avoiding housework and hibernating from that icy blast of wind.

I must away to do a few last minute jobs around the hoos.

The largest contains a Wooden Bumble Bee ( My nick-name for Torben is "Bumbles") because he's always busy.
In the second box is a paperweight containing a star fish.
Box three contains a shell from the beach opposite our home.
The smallest box contains the perfect size compass.

Last but certainly not least...
A wee box containing a compass, which she gave me when we met on Thursday. I mentioned that I was going to buy one and she happened to have just the thing in her bag.

Bags gave me a set of four colourful boxes in a variety of colours and sizes. I decided to use them as a wee gift for Torben. Each box now contains a wee treasure.

NanaandGrampy Thank you for putting a good word in for me. I'm chuffed to have achieved far more than I initially set out to do. This morning I water-proofed the log store. There is an hour's work needed to finish under the porch. MacS has to do that. It would mean me standing on the top step of the ladder in order to reach the highest point. I've strict orders not to even think about it!

We've been to the village car boot sale. Half the proceeds raised will go towards the restoration of the village hall fund. A very good cause.
MacS had items to sell that he used when he was an architect. That "lot" was first to go. He also sold a whole mini-mountain of slates, left over from the build of our home. The buyer is picking up tomorrow. We sold a box of very old tools. They had previously belonged to his late father. The buyer was thrilled. Always nice to put a smile on someone's face.

Same here Pompa I think they would bring the scan forward if there was anything too untoward. Can't be much fun being in pain though and the wait for the scan just prolongs things. I'd offer you a (hug) but not sure how that would affect your kidney pain (to say nothing of what Mrs P would think ). No doubt you are being well looked after.

I am so sorry Pompa that you feel this way- I am not sure what to say. I think that one thing in your favour is that the CT scan is not until the 19th May. I would have thought that if there was something very serious that the date would have been brought forward. Good luck and fingers crossed.

I'm starting to get morbid over the kidney pain I have. Had a CT renagram Friday Morning, next day I got an appointment for a CT scan. Could it be that the renagram did not show anything so different scan needed, or did it show something sinister and the consultant wants more information. I had hoped it was stones or a restricted ureta. but they should have shown up on the U/S or renagram. CT scan in not until 19th May.

Tizliz I sometimes wonder how badly organised some places are . The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I actually got a call yesterday and a good telling off for being so inconsiderate to have arranged a holiday 8 months ago which will mess up their statistics ! :-)

Bellasnana YOU have my utmost sympathy. Dentists are my bete noir !! And toothache is the worst thing ever. I hope you're feeling a little better today but if not forget the wee dram get stuck into the bottle . It may not help the pain but it'll help you sleep better

I meant to add, à propos of Inverary, there was a very next ce TV prog about Torquhil the Duke and his wife , the castle and everything. What a VERY nice young man he seems to be, no "side" to him and devoted to his role and responsibilities as clan chief.

We are safely home and I was just SO glad not to be the one responsible for getting us home.,we left London just before 5, which as you can imagine meant gridlock every way you looked in Hampstead. Rain sheeting down and the motorway diabolical. However we were back by 20 to 7 and in time for me to ring the village pub, order our Friday night fish and chips and put plates in the oven to warm while I collected them.
With a nice glass of I am now unwinding and I am NOT EVEN THE PATIENT! Although I was up early to bring DH his early morning Moviprep, poor man.
I believe it all went OK, one polyp has been removed and lots of biopsies taken so we will see them again in a year.

Goodness gracious me. What a lot of activity and here am I all scruffy, in need of a shower, stuff to do and exceedingly short of time in which to say all that I would like to say to you lovely lot.

I've only just finished more outside painting jobs. Hence the dashing in for a quick catch up...

Phew! I'm sorry to hear that Bellasnana is having such a tough time. Toothache is horrible. It's so unfair that you have to deal with it besides all the other worries that are going on right now. I agree...hold the whisky in your mouth and allow it to numb the pain.

annsixty I feel your frustration. The two consultants will decide the best course of treatment. Once the decision has be made, you will hopefully feel a lot better. Sometimes it's difficult to remain positive. Uncertainty gets one down.
I'm so sorry that you also have a painful knee to deal with. Bless you.

Tizliz Hospital appointments and long waiting lists...I know how you feel. Three months is about right. By the time I have my drop-bot scrutinised (in June) I'll have waited since November 11th last year. It is worth reminding you GP if you feel at all concerned. I have much to thank my doctor for. He is like a terrier with a bone when appointments appear to be "overlooked".

I've about a further couple of hours work on the windows around the back of the house. MacS has been busy in the loft. It's the village car boot sale tomorrow. He has "stuff" to sell. He left me (reluctantly) up a ladder with a pot of paint. I'm pleased to say that I didn't splosh paint on the glass. In fact, I made a decent job of things.

Alea My heart goes out to your dear husband. Oh dear! The dreaded Moviprep. That, and Picalax, are akin to torture. The constant dash...the sore bot...the feeling that one has been run over with a steam roller. Thank goodness for the taxi. Will you be home by now? I hope so.

another vote for the whisky treatment here. You are entitled to feel sorry for yourself, toothache is really miserable.

Bellasnana I do not know why they are so reluctant to extract teeth, especially at our age and the obvious pain that you have been experiencing. Luckily you got it sorted before the weekend. I would miss the tooth re the whisky and put it down the hatch- you deserve it. Not a pleasant day for you.
