As we're living on the west coast of Scotland...a very long way from family who live in Sussex, Bristol, Rutland and Leicestershire, we try to meet once a year. This year, I was beginning to think that perhaps there was too much stuff going on, and therefore we would not meet until granddaughter's wedding in Holland, next year. I didn't say a word. I would hate for anyone to feel under pressure to meet with us. It therefore came as a very welcome surprise.
Galen As I said, a talented lady in demand (you). First things first...you know what you have to concentrate on before November. No excuses. 
Charleyg It is bitterly cold but we've had a dry day. No snow all winter. The sea helps to keep the temperature just the right side of freezing. Must bring in the potted plants, as they are still tender.
I love all animals, no matter how small or mighty they may be.
Off to do a few jobs. Ironing for my pal in the morning. I shall say goodnight and wish everyone, especially those of you with a poorly partner or worries of one kind or another, a restful and cosy evening.

I hardly know where to begin. We opened this kitchen extension on 30th of March. We have 615 visits to keep tabs on. I've never known the kitchen be so busy. You lovely lot deserve for being really kind and supportive of each other.
I've been to the care home. The ladies laughed a lot. We're not certain what it is that is hilariously funny...but then does it matter? Nope!
Alea Whatever next! All I can add is that your husband won't be discharged until he's well and truly on the mend. The fact that he's a patient in the hospital, albeit during a strike, will most definitely mean that he needs and will receive the best possible care. That was remiss of the Royal Free to overlook the antibiotic prior to his procedure. MKH is a good place to be. Please update us from time to time.
Galen I would love to be able to crochet a blanket as beautiful as those in the photos. You are a woman of many talents.

Yours too, cornergran...what's not to like about coffee and walnut cake. My mouth waters at the very thought of it. However, I've a figure to take of. I shall therefore have the weeniest slice. 
NanaandGrampy New baby cuddles. How lovely for you. Lots of tender kissing on the downy head, fingers and tiny toes of Sophia Grace.
My news got better as the day passed. At first, two sons and daughters-in-law were to meet with us in Glasgow. Son number three then decided that he would also join us. Then...our married granddaughter and her husband added their name's to the list, followed by another granddaughter and her beloved (who are to marry in Holland next year)...and...one grandson. Other grandchildren may also make the journey. Both MacSporran and I are over the moon. Some time to wait. I don't care. Part of the fun is in the anticipation.
Gaga Sweet Peas and Freesias are my two favourite flowers. The perfume is glorious. The colours are stunning.
As a child the family camped in the New Forest. We had a small Austen 7 in those days. Having pitched the tent, my mother realised that the ground was alive with ants. We all piled into the car and spent a very cramped and uncomfortable night.

Charleyg The sun is shining but the wind has an icy blast to it. I'm wearing two thick sweaters, a woolly scarf, thick socks and sheepskin lined slippers (indoors).
A man is coming with a shredder. He's going to shred all the hedge trimmings and branches that were lopped from the bird cherry tree. After which, we're to use the wood chippings on the part of our garden that has very poor soil. In fact, he's just this minute arrived. Excellent timing!
I shall return a little later.
So much activity and such lovely handiwork. I'm envious of the talents. I was never a fluent knitter, if you see what I mean, my Mum was so good I didn't need to persevere. Sort of wish I had now. I've been on catchup today, lots of laundry, paperwork and phone calls. Not exciting but a couple of successful outcomes I didn't expect so happy. Made some good leftover soup for lunch, yummy but Nomchance of replicating it. A little left if anyone needs a late lunch.
Beautiful blankets Galen I am not surprised they are much in demand. Time to get cracking on the next one now do you think. Here, I will put a nice slice of kitty's cake and a for you, to give you energy to start.
On the subject of cooking kitty, I could just do with a bowl of your creamy pea soup and a hunk of bread for my lunch....any left???

Kitty how on earth did you manage to do all that cooking? My back would never allow it ( I would be letting out an 'owl' )
Any chance of a spot of lunch here? Then I could smuggle some food out in my capacious bag for later on ( see the thread on buffet breakfasts.)

Hello everyone, I've been lurking just inside the door with baubles as I've been too busy to sit down - might never move again!!
Just checking to see how everyone is doing. I am so sorry for those of you who are lonely, I'm sure I would hate it.
I'm in awe of everyone's handiwork - do any of you take orders?
I have spent a few weekends (and quite a bit of money!) on/in/ the garden but it looks nothing like soop's 
Hope there is good news of DH Alea and no news of DD for a while yet.
As I have been a domestic goddess this morning and made beef ribs in the slow oven, chilli for 8 (so enough to freeze), a vat of creamy pea soup and a couple of victoria sponges, I thought I'd leave virtual one here - it's got buttercream in so enjoy. I try to make a cake for Mum's carers if I have time as they are brilliant with her and listen to me when I'm concerned about her.
Keep posting everyone, I enjoy reading all the posts even if I can't join in so much at the moment.

A hasty breakfast for you all this morning , good coffee and croissants ! Up at 06:19 for carpet lifting duty ( I supervised !!) and the carpet fitters arrived at 8:00 so its a bit chaotic down there right now .
Charleygirl I am off to my favourite place in the world :Florida! We will actually be doing a little Mickey Mouse stuff this time as taking youngest daughter and her family with us and so have two VERY excited little boys. So 3 weeks with them . Then we are off to Cape Coral by the coast for 2 lovely weeks of doing nothing but swimming reading and eating .
Its true what they say to be lonely is bad enough but lonely in a crowd much worse.
wot well done on a successful trip !!! 46kgs though? I fear a doggy diet is in Sophie Dogs future {smile]. I think she could swallow our 10kg Sam for a snack

Tizliz I love Anlon - he is a gorgeous boy. Sounds like he is on patrol after dark . He must consider it his job! Is he a Belgian Malinois? He's certainly beautiful .
Galen have you started that blanket yet? Maybe all us Kitcheners who can crotchet should complete a square and send it to you !!
Well I am off to meet Sophia Grace for the first time today which is always nice. Tiny babies are my favourite sort and I can quite happily spend a long time cuddling but will have to fight off both my daughters for that privilege.
