The sun is shining here, the washing is drying. It was very cold earlier but much improved now.

This is not the only day that you must relax- Torben wants a fit Gran to visit.

It sounds as though the house is perfect, inside and out. Rory (and Bracken) are going to get a shock the week after next when the personal service is not available.

I went for one of several wees in the night, and on one such occasion I thought to myself...hang on...I meant to say "discord" not "disharmony". Isn't the mind peculiar at times? Well, mine most certainly is.

kitty and number Nurofen is helping to dull the coccyx discomfort. I'm relaxing again today. The house looks smart inside and out. The garden is very much neater. There is room for a number of well-parked broomsticks. Galen can have prime parking lot. She deserves it.

I am lucky, I have had offers to help load the machine gun I would be taking to Switzerland! I no longer have a passport but that is the least of my worries. The gun would not be a problem getting through security because I have so much metalwork in my ankle and knee.

I have had more kind PMs today, my faith in most human nature has been restored!

Crikey, soop! Just stop it! We get really worried when you have a mishap as we rely on your kindliness and good sense (and silliness!) to keep the kitchen going.

Charley, as has been said before, take no notice of anyone upsetting you - you know we all are aware of how sensible you are but I'm sorry you have been reduced to taking in washing!

It is a lovely sunny day in NW London but a trifle cold. I appear to be washing for the local community yet again. I have no idea where it comes from.

soop I do hope that another night's sleep has helped the pains especially the low back pain. We each have our bags packed so if you do not adhere to a simple request REST, we will be visiting en masse.

I am very late coming online today, so have only just found out about your mishap Soop. Please, please, Missus, take more care, and look after yourself, you`re wanted and needed by a lot of people, not only Rory and Bracken. Thank goodness MacSporran was on hand to help, and to take care of you xx

cornergran thanks- it was reading about 7 posts one after the other first thing this morning that started the tears. I am not normally like that.

I have "eyes" on the brain today. I had a chat with my neighbour who is an ophthalmologist, I have not seen him to chat to for ages. Being a man he did not know where to get a door key cut locally.

I have just returned from a visit to Waitrose and I had Granjura in mind when I turned into the 2nd (narrow) residential road close to my house. I had literally just turned right when 2 police cars came screaming down the road, blue lights flashing so I had to move quickly. The brain was in gear and the eyesight on form, luckily there were a couple of car park spaces, so I signalled and sat there until the cars passed by. I still can react swiftly contrary to an opinion.

Why do I shop on a Saturday when I am no longer working and have most of the week to do it? I upset the girl in the Waitrose cafe by asking her how long the carrot cake had been sitting exposed! Apparently since they opened early am and this was after 5pm when I went for a cup of coffee.

I must rescue my washing, change my bedding and think about supper. Au revoir my lovelies. The sun has shone here all day, I know that some of you are jealous.

Charleyg It saddens me to hear that you've been reduced to tears. There is more than enough disharmony in this crazy world of ours. I steer clear of folk who enjoy confrontation. For this reason, I tend to stay in our kitchen with Granspals that I'm comfortable to know and discuss matters with without fear of being made to look ridiculous. So...put the hankie away, brush yourself down, start all over again. Us lot enjoy your company.

Charleygirl your experience is exactly the sort of thing that made me so reluctant to join in with many discussions. It doesn't matter whether face to face or via the computer destructive comments are just that, no matter the intention behind them. Pleased you are feeling more robust now - I won't be too kind, don't want to trigger more tears . Pleased you are at least mobile soop, back pain is the very devil. I've had a good day, a long walk on the beach in the sun, two cups of coffee in beach side cafes before getting soaked by a passing shower on my way back from the bus - easier to use the bus than to find a parking place. It might sound silly to say good alongside the soaking, but it was a short walk and soon home in the dry. Now I should be catching up with paperwork, notice I say should, I saw a thread recently about procrastination - I've got it down to an art form. Its Saturday, that's my excuse. Take care everyone. I will do the paperwork, I will, I will, I will.................

Thanks Lona. I am a sensitive soul and must get out more! I could not be nasty and vindictive to somebody I do not know and have never met, or even to somebody I do know! Anonymity can bring out the best and worst in people. She is hiding today- I doubt if she expected the reaction she received from others.

Charleygirl I haven't read all the thread that has upset you, but I'm with anno. Take no notice of the nasty comments, she is definitely not worth it!

Wow!!!!! You lovely lot are absolutely wonderful. I have read all your comments. At the very end, Bellanonna's suggestion that a bus-load of Kitcheners may descend upon me, made me chortle. I can well imagine the fun we would have. Rory would keep a low profile. He's inclined to be shy. Madam Bracken is even more shy. She as good as ran up the tree. She has the agility of a monkey. Getting down again, was no problem whatsoever.

It is sunny and possibly a little less chilly. I'm having a restful afternoon. You see, I do listen to you lot. I would hate to disappoint you.

For the time being I'm leaving the computer. I would welcome one of those latex, squidgy ring-things, on which to park my backside.

We should inform MacS as we will require accommodation. I have no objections sleeping with Rory, he is always very comfortable in that lovely house.

I still haven't read what seem to be an entire tome of comments. I feel bad about that. I shall do so as I eat my lunch.

True, the fall was unsettling. It was awfully messy too. I had completed the jobs that needed attention. I was not on the ladder...on which I was safe. It was a trip on the lip of a step that sent me a** over t**. The opened paint pot was the first thing that went over. the bottom of my spine then hammered into a jutting slab on the top of a shallow wall. Anyways...MacS was there to help me to my feet, and more importantly, clear up the terrible mess. Some potted plants have been damaged by splashed paint. I'm finding it difficult to sit for any length of time. Getting on and off the loo is painful. Next weekend...we're away to spend time with Torben. I shall recover in time for that event.

Charleyg I understand that someone has upset you. Come on in and sit with me. I would welcome your company.

On reflection it is all of the kind posts here and on the "unsafe to drive" thread that made me dissolve into tears. Granjura brings out the worst in me and normally I am very mild tempered.

Anno may I suggest that you consider moving house closer to here because today the sun is shining again and I must get the washing out.

I am not sure if I can face Aldi because yesterday apparently the queues, car and folk on foot were out on to the main road, the car park having filled up very quickly.

I have decided that being 72 and having grey hair = mug. I live in a small, modern 3 bedroom house and the bedrooms and hallway upstairs have laminate flooring. I was given a quote over the phone (cash in hand naturally) for £4.5K. I was not aware that I had moved to a grander, larger place. As you are all aware, I keep that sort of cash in my purse- I know I am lucky to be so loaded. It was my work pension increase of £1.40 per month that tipped the barrel re thinking about changing the laminate which was very badly laid.

soop if you do not agree to rest today Tara and I will be up to visit asap. I will not be driving! Rory will also be concerned as is MacS.

charleygirl I have not read the driving thread but please do not let others comments upset you so. There are people on GN who like giving their opinions of others and take no heed of the hurt they can cause. You sit here in the kitchen where it is safe and have a with us. I have always hated driving and do as little as possible. I potter around locally quite happily but get hot and bothered if I have to go on motorways or places I am not familiar with. Hope you enjoy your new stores. Let us know how you get on ((huggs))

Charleygirl, how sad to read that those awful comments on the driving thread have affected you so badly. I was astonished at gj's posts to be honest. All you had said was that you are not keen on driving, which I'm sure must resonate with many. As for night driving, I avoid it too. Mustn't grumble on this thread but try not to take it to heart, you have so much support and just try to focus on that.

Hope we hear from soop shortly and that she has been able to sleep. Lots of bruises I'm sure, and a painful shoulder. I'm sure MacS is taking good care of her.

Oh Charleygirl I hope you are feeling a bit stronger after your therapeutic tears. You were very kind to me once after I was upset by a former very strong poster so I hope coming here in the kitchen for some TLC and a virtual hug helps.(((hug))) And take no notice of those having a go!

Now Madam Soop - are you going to start being sensible and taking more care? I hesitate to say "acting your age" but there - I have done. You have worried all your numerous pals and we want you to stop doing it! (((hug)))
I expect you will be very sore and achey today and MacS will be just as concerned as we all are. Please let us know that you are not seriously hurt so we can be less worried.
