Have we got a good morning Easter Monday?

High up on the downs here in Kent - only just got internet back after "Katie" Yesterday the village cut off by fallen trees, power outage during the morning, and fair bit of damage in the garden . Time now for a clean up

Here in SW London 2 panels of our fence blew down , narrowly missed killing next door's rabbit. Did serious damage to the hutch though.

Very windy through the night, woke up to snow, then the rain and winds but finally this afternoon a bit of sun and light winds. Hope everyone had a great day.

Lots of posts today, nothing like the good old topic of the British weather to get us going. Hope everyone is safe and the expense of repairs is not too terrible .

Torrential rain here in South Yorks first thing - we have a leaking window and it got through that plus rumbles of thunder yesterday evening but been up to County Durham today and it was fine all day albeit a bit windy and cold. Fine again here now. Bet its beautiful tomorrow when we're back at work!

Mid-afternoon-ish here in South Bucks, and we've had a sun/cloud sort of day after a very wet and windy night; quite a lot of twigs and bigger bits of tree on the large swathe of green which we like to call a lawn and various pots have rearranged themselves. Yesterday was very wild and woolly with a mix of torrential rain, hail, thunder and brilliant sunshine.

My grandchildrens large trampoline was blown over a 6ft high brick wall and landed upright in the middle of the road. Luckily missed parked cars and neighbours windows.

Interested to hear what the weather is like in Kent Treecycler. It's where we are from. But at present we are staying with our son ( in Barbados) where we have not been troubled by Storm Katie!!!! Very sorry to hear from our friends saying how the weather is messing up Easter plans.

katie struck in the very early hours here in dorset - torrential wind and rain trying to get in my bedroom with me!! not a lot of sleep but no electricity cuts.
thankfully all is now a lot calmer and the sun is out although it's a bit windy.
no damage done unless you count the bird table being blown down [thankfully the metal bird feeder is still up and functioning].
tree down on the way to take my guy to work in the new forest this morning so we had to go the long way around - hope they [whoever they are] manage to clear it away before i go and get him back this evening [he's a head chef and is very tired after four full on days]. don't want wind and rain tonight please!!!

Hello AnneSixty in Hazel Grove. That's where I hail from! In Kent now, and I think we have been at the edge, though as someone said, we are having four seasons over the weekend. Yesterday it was rainy, grey, cold and windy, this morning is brilliant sunshine and still high winds, but quite warm. So much so that I have hung out washing, with plenty of pegs. No damage here. Our trees went over a couple of winters ago, and since then, I have had the really tall ones pruned down, and the wobbly ones taken out. I miss them, but it's nice not to have to worry every time there is a high wind ?

Wild and windy West Sussex. Have ignored the fact that we are now semi open plan with our neighbour as part of the fence down and gone for a blustery but beautiful walk on the beach. Hubby now out doing a fix it job! Good man!

Hi windy and rain overnight overcast but dry at moment in West Yorkshire no damage son in Lancashire said they had hail yesterday which covered roads looked like it had been snowing at least it's not snowing ?⛈❄️☔️

Sussex coast. We were woken by really violent winds. Some trees down and roads closed. Glad we have no plans to venture out today A game of UpWords perhaps.

And I still have my school French pen friend. The other day our youngest DD Texted me to ask which was a mobile number in France so, to be sure, I emailed Claudine who replied straight away. So within about 10 minutes messages had gone from Yorkshire via Staffs to France and back again. Absolutely brilliant isn't it?
My posts always seem to be long-sorry about that. I trained as a touch typist (in French too!) years ago and, as I can type as fast as I can speak, I can go on forever.?

Welcome Tallulah2. I so enjoy hearing everyone's contributions. Esp today hearing from different parts of the country too. Wonder how many there are abroad? Isn't the Internet wonderful? I just love it. Just spoken to a friend in Bexhill, sun is out now there after a wild night, and following conversation have just ordered a one handled tray for £15 from Coopers she told me about. The ones in our local chemist are about £30. All done and dusted while sitting having a coffee.

Hi everyone, this is my first post although have been a "member" for some time. Well in deepest Kent we woke to a power cut and trees down blocking lanes! Luckily don't need to travel anywhere today. Fortunately power only off for about 3hrs and could still make a cuppa as have gas hob!

Howling wind and rain all night here in Kent but wind now dying down a bit and sun out. Garden fence down and flower pots rolling around o'h dear.

Good morning to all from breezy Somerset. Gosh the winds in the night were wild. Thankfully much lighter now and we've been out and walked the dog with no mishaps! Retrieved the empty trugs we forgot to put away yesterday and will stay in now reading gransnet!

Sunshine here now, so washing machine is on.

Having the family over for an Easter roast chicken dinner after they've spent the weekend decorating a bigger bedroom for Willow now that she's moved out of the cot into a wee bed.

Started the day with a power cut in my part of N.Kent - lasted a couple of hours. The sun shining brightly now and the winds are dying down - the fence has taken a pounding, but hopefully the worst is over.

Woke to icy snow in Staffordshire. All gone now but very windy and raining, too.

Oops. Just been outside & we seem to have losr 90% of 6' fence running between us & house next door. 8 x 6' fence panels.
Luckily they missed 3 cars on drive. Expensive night for us.

We've had lots of rain over last few days, but it never stops raining in Rochdale, so nothing new - today went out in buckets pouring from heavens, with brilliant sunshine at the same time. Now dry but grey and depressing!

From all the reports on local radio, we appear to have been quite lucky where we are. Certainly heavy rain and strong winds overnight, but personally, the rather rickety fences are still standing, and I do not think the rain penetrated the garage, not looked yet. Now, the sun is shining with a nice wind blowing so decided to do the washing - sure to rain. Enjoy your days.
