I do get really fed up with the idea of putting moral pressure on people who are fighting for reasonable and, in this case, reasoned working conditions.
I am sure we will soon get the "it used to be a vocation" just as we do with teachers. It's a job, nothing more, nothing less. They have not taken holy orders and a vow of poverty. People do it to the best of their ability and with care but it's a job. Those doing it have every right to strike - although the government should not have brought it to that. If this government stopped acting like mill owners in the 18th Century they wouldn't have to strike would they?
