Sometimes a comment or memory will make me think that a member is older or indeed younger than I might have expected.
A recent reference to school trips in the 1930's had me trying to work out the maths. smile
How would you feel about revealing your age? I am prepared to be impressed, especially as so many members seem to be so active and involved in many things.

Maybe I'm one of the oldest grans of little children: Two sisters, just 4 and 22 months, and their boy cousin who is nearly 3-and-a-half. I was 71 when the first baby was born and had given up on grandparenthood. I feel so lucky now but just wish I had the energy needed to run round after them. I do have them to stay, and we do take them out, but it's pretty tiring. Can't imagine life without them though. My girls were very late mums.

I'm seventy eight and and a half years old. Pretty ancient for GN.

grannylyn65 Fri 18-Mar-16 15:20:03

Nananolife Fri 18-Mar-16 13:57:34

I will be 75 in August and I am the editor for Warrington Gransnet, so I have to be quite pc savvy for that! I had my first girl at 33 and third daughter at 43, so lateish really, but I now have 6 grandchildren all living within 10 minutes away...so I am on call - a lot!

LullyDully Fri 18-Mar-16 13:47:52

4...... the youngest so far and 84 the oldest by my reckoning and a quick glance through the posts. An awful lot between 64 and 70.

baubles Fri 18-Mar-16 13:24:58

I'm 62. Married at 21, children at 27 and 31. (My mother told people I was 'playing house' for the first few years!)

Grandma for the first time at 57, DD was 29.

Stansgran Fri 18-Mar-16 12:41:08

I'm 70 ,married at 23,children at 27 and 30.
I think we had someone on at 92 called Bijou, she posted fairly recently?

Thingmajig Fri 18-Mar-16 11:45:34

I'm 57, married at 23 and again (thankfully an improved husband model!) at 53, became a gran at 55 just after I'd taken early retirement!

harrigran Fri 18-Mar-16 10:27:15

How I envy those that became grans at a younger age, I had my first child at 22 but was 59 before I became a gran.

luluaugust Fri 18-Mar-16 10:24:11

68, married at 19, first child 21. First grandchild at 48.

MargaretinNorthant Fri 18-Mar-16 10:17:28

78 and 5 months! Married at 23, premature twin boys at 23, 2 daughters after that, so four under 7 when I turned 30. 9 grandchildren , all boys bar one!

thatbags Fri 18-Mar-16 09:22:42

60. Married at 21. First child at 25, second at 26. Married again at 42. Third child at 44 (doc who came to see me in early stages of labour: "You're never 44". Me: shrug).First grandchild at... hang on; I have to work this out; I didn't notice at the time..... 53, second at 56.

So I reckon I need to get married again at 63 if I'm to keep the pattern going ?

Elegran Fri 18-Mar-16 09:12:14

Sorry, nearly 77 - prewar model.

Elegran Fri 18-Mar-16 09:11:23

76, married at 24, three children, three grandchildren.

Katek Fri 18-Mar-16 09:00:30

PRINTMISS Fri 18-Mar-16 08:55:49

Tricia Nina Wot you have made an old lady feel young, again. Thank you.

Gagagran Fri 18-Mar-16 08:49:42

I am 72. Married at 21 and had my children at 27 and 29 after a phantom pregnancy at 25. I was 58 when first DGD was born, then 59 for no. 2, 62 for nos. 2 and 4

Teetime Fri 18-Mar-16 08:48:51

I'm 63 - married the first time at 19 second at 25 and still hanging on to that one. 2 daughters aged 45 and 41, step son aged 45 - 7 grandchildren 30 - 6. Eldest grandson got married last year - he is 30 so I expect it wont be too long before I'm a Great Gran.

Falconbird Fri 18-Mar-16 08:29:33

This is interesting. So far most of us seem to be in our 60s and early seventies. I'm 70 this year.
