..to tinge every celebratory day with sadness? Can't we just be allowed to be happy?

I'm all for sympathy for individuals when sad things happen in posters' lives, but why introduce misery to everything? hmm

thatbags Sun 06-Mar-16 19:09:59

Half-a-brainBags is still confused. If OP was nothing to do with the Bereavement Forum, to what "introduced misery" was it referring? Please.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 19:08:49

Where did I leave that brown-nose emoti?

Elrel Sun 06-Mar-16 19:06:00

Lovely thoughtful post, Grannyqueenie!

FarNorth Sun 06-Mar-16 19:03:46

'We' may not need a bereavement forum. Some others, seemingly, do.

I hadn't noticed misery being introduced to everything, and no-one being allowed to be happy.

This thread has been quite entertaining, tho, in a confusing sort of way.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 19:01:16

Why "aunty jings"? confused

Ana Sun 06-Mar-16 19:01:08

I'd thought I was agreeing with you, jingl...confused

But never mind, feelings are bound to run high when subjects like this are brought up. I just don't understand why some people join GN then want to change it.

grannylyn65 Sun 06-Mar-16 19:00:35

Well, at least this thread has made me ?!

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 19:00:09

Totally confused now. hmm

Hello granjura. Fancy seeing you here.

granjura Sun 06-Mar-16 18:57:47

Can't we just be allowed to be happy?

well it seems to have served its purpose ... not.

grannylyn65 Sun 06-Mar-16 18:52:55

??? Aunty Jings

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 18:49:56

Manage to get your poor little brains round it now?

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 18:49:16

OP nothing to do with Bereavement forum. I just agreed with Ana that we didn't need one.

I was fed up with misery having to be introduced to everything, including Mothers Day. It seems no one's allowed to just be happy on here anymore.

If I was horribly bereaved the last place I would want to discuss it is on Gransnet. Can't understand It TBH.

grannylyn65 Sun 06-Mar-16 18:43:26

Madam ? I wish ?

grannylyn65 Sun 06-Mar-16 18:42:54

Farnorth ( and I am ! ) grin

FarNorth Sun 06-Mar-16 18:34:21

Your OP does not mention the bereavement forum, other posters did that and you have not confirmed if they are correct in their assumption.
If your OP is not about that then what is it about and in what way should it be taken?
Those are straightforward questions, as well as I could manage with my less than half a brain, and I'd be interested in the answers.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 18:34:13

"ones" was the polite version there btw.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 18:33:33

"So many"!!! About fifteen I make it! Out of how many GNrs? And it's the usual ones. grin

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 18:28:32

And it's not me who introduces the unpleasantness. It's the usual bunch. And if that includes you Farnorth, well, so be it. hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 18:26:31

Nothing confusing in the OP. Not to anyone with half a brain.

FarNorth Sun 06-Mar-16 17:49:10

jingls you have posted a confusing OP and now you are taking the hump because you feel others have taken it the wrong way.

I, for one, have no idea how it should have been taken and wonder why you so often introduce confusion and squabbling into everything.

M0nica Sun 06-Mar-16 17:48:09

As explaining myself just causes more problems I will obey that well known saying 'If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging'

Luckygirl Sun 06-Mar-16 16:51:52

Tell us the right way it should be taken. The fact that so many have responded in defence of the bereavement forum means that they have interpreted it in one way - and it would seem from your post that this was not what you intended. Maybe you could explain how it should be taken to end the confusion.

Imperfect27 Sun 06-Mar-16 16:50:09

MOnica I wasn't suggesting that YOU are 'precious' in your attitude - just confused as to why you should state the obvious that I (or indeed anyone) would be upset if negative comments were made on the bereavement forum and that seemed to suggest that perhaps it ought to be 'fair game' as elsewhere on GN.
Sigh - posting does have limitations ... no offence intended ... just confused!

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 16:43:30

I've had enough now.

This thread has been taken completely the wrong way by posters who just enjoy putting the boot in.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 06-Mar-16 16:42:06

Yeah, of course you've got to put your oar in, haven't you madam. Love to put an appropriate emoti up for you but it would only get deleted.
