Is anyone else as scandalised as I am by the amount of junk mail The Oldie sends out? I have 30 or 40 different magazines delivered, and none is accompanied by anywhere near as much as they send - they are by far and away the worst offenders. It is not unusual to have 14 or 15 pamphlets and other ads with the magazine, some of them quite large and heavy. On one memorable occasion, the junk weighed 25% more than the magazine itself. And if any readership can be assumed to be automatically allergic to junk mail, it is that of The Oldie. Why DO they do it?
