unusual easter eggs

hello,

i know i'm a bit early but has anyone seen anything unusual this year? I'm looking for something a bit nicer than the old dairy milk buttons type easter eggs. I remember M&S used to do fabulous ones with different animals and coloured chocolate, but can't seem to find anything that nice this year.

I'm just thinking the gc can have something like chocolate buttons or milky bars etc any time and it would be nice to get them an egg that they were a bit wowed by!

I'm doing the bunny footprint egg hunt too, nannynath. My boys are only 3, 2 and nearly 1, so I'm just going to hide tiny eggs, bunnies and chicks under the footprints. Probably with a Lidl white chocolate lamb at the end of the trail for each of them. I'm always wowed by fancy Easter eggs, but still buy one for each of my three grown-up DC and their partners, so keep it cheap - I got large Cadbury eggs this year from Tesco at £2 each when they were on offer a couple of weeks ago. Incredible when you think what they used to cost.

You are looking for things which are available with the basket people. They provide a hamper of all the easter products specially designed for the occasion and you can customize it as per your requirements.

Went to Hotel Chocolat but thought the Egg Sandwiches a bit of a disappointment. Ditto eggs in M&S. Carluccios had some nice chickens on eggs and a goose with a golden egg. All about £10 each though. Since we have to buy quite a few Easter eggs we ended up in Sainsbury's and got what we needed if a little conventional Still the children won't mind that.

Remember Woolworths, always had a good selection. I remember seeing one chap buying about ten eggs, must have had a big family, I quite miss Woollies.

Thorntons have some Candied eggs they start at about five pounds. They are wowish. Mine will have a small chocolate bunny and a gift. They will have an egg hunt following bunny footprints. They will probably make the nests. The little ones have so much today Im happy to keep my efforts simple.

You'd definitely get my vote! I don't think that today's children are going to be wowed about Easter eggs. Mainly , they don't need them or want them; a cornflake nest with a few Cadburys mini eggs usually does the trick! Add a book token ( which always works for my grandchildren ) and 'job done'.
As a small boy, and he's now 40, our son could keep his Easter eggs until well into the summer (unless his older sister got her hands on them!). He really wasn't interested!
Having said all this I can still remember the satisfying snap of a Cadburys Easter egg shell! And I'm never bought one today!! I may have to treat myself.
