can I make a plea that people read the thread before posting.

In the last couple of days I have seen a few threads where people have either repeated previous posts with no acknowledgement or asked questions that have been asked and answered previously. I realise that in fast moving threads it can happen but im not talking about those.

Obviously, this is a greater sin when it is my posts that have been ignored! grin

Doh! How infuriating for you Indinana. Def a job for the techies. Hope the wine did the trick for you. flowers

Indinana Sun 07-Feb-16 20:55:35

Purpledaffodil I have 100 messages per page showing. There is no option on the green band at the top of the thread saying "Show all messages". If I go to Customise (also on the green band), and change to 25 posts per page, then there is an option on the green band saying "Show 100 messages". There is nothing, no option at all, when I go back to 100 messages. And if I go to Customise and select 1000 messages, and hit Save Options, it doesn't save it.
I've tried the mobile site on my iPhone and I've tried the desktop site on my iPad, and they're no different. I've even tried the desktop site on my other, 5 year old, iPad too. No different.
I'm bored with this now. I need a large glass of wine grin

Sorry Indinana just saw your question. Show all messages is on the green band at the top of the thread, the one where it says First Previous Next Last.
I am using my iPad and it is on there. I am not using the mobile site though because I don't like the format. Could that be the answer?

ffinnochio Sun 07-Feb-16 19:45:56

indinana just a couple of thoughts...

1. That it might be a typo ... 1000 instead of 100

2. It might be something to do with the fact that when a thread reaches 1000 posts, it requires another start-up thread on the same subject if it's to continue. This might be the reason it won't work.

It works for me sometimes, but then it forgets within a few hours. It can forget just by moving threads.

Indinana Sun 07-Feb-16 17:29:19

Ah well, Jalima, I have asked the question on a thread on Site Stuff. Which has now disappeared off the 'Active' page. I'll bump it tomorrow, and if I don't get any response, I'll email them.

Indinana Sun 07-Feb-16 17:21:52

oops? 'threw the window'? I meant through blush

Jalima Sun 07-Feb-16 16:17:44

I have tried on the flippin' tablet and on the pc

Indinana Sun 07-Feb-16 15:54:02

Oh well, in that case I won't throw my laptop threw the window grin

Jalima Sun 07-Feb-16 15:52:22

No, still two pages

Jalima Sun 07-Feb-16 15:51:20

You are not alone Indinana, it works sometimes and not others.

Must be them not us.

Indinana Sun 07-Feb-16 15:48:31

*the only person

Indinana Sun 07-Feb-16 15:48:13

WHY am I the only for whom this feature doesn't work? I've searched and searched, and scratched my head, and there is absolutely nothing else I can do, no other way of doing it. Customise, 1000 posts per page, Save Options. IT DOESN'T BL@@DY SAVE IT angryangryangry

Shestheone Sun 07-Feb-16 15:15:29

I've done the customise thingy (didn't know about that, so thanks Jalima and Thatbags) and my iPad remembered when I came back on today.

My brain, however, had clearly reset to the original setting and couldn't work out where 'first, next, previous' was grin

seacliff Sun 07-Feb-16 14:51:49

Yes still sunny in Suffolk - the snowdrops, primroses and daffs are all out! Hope the apple blossom, when it appears, doesn't get blasted by late cold spell, several years ago we lost nearly all apples.

Perhaps we should another smiley/emotion, just for this situation, being ignored.smile

Jalima Sun 07-Feb-16 14:50:51

Bellanonna perhaps better to be ignored than told off hmm or have a bit of your post taken out of context and twisted misunderstood!

Jalima Sun 07-Feb-16 14:49:12

I've just done that on this thread, and it is still two pages confused

Indinana Sun 07-Feb-16 14:45:26

Yes, that is what I've done thatbags, repeatedly. I select '1000', hit 'save options' and it immediately reverts to 100 in the selection field confused. I've been trying to do this for months and every time the same thing happens!

thatbags Sun 07-Feb-16 13:29:22

indi, go to "customise" in the green band at the top of the thread. That's where you can change how many posts appear one page. Good luck.

Bellanonna Sun 07-Feb-16 13:04:59

Oh I usually get ignored then further on someone else, better "known", says the same thing as I did, and gets praised. It happens! I get over it, and resist the temptation to say, Oi, I said that earlier. But a girl can get paranoid at times, especially when killing a thread as I often have done. But I feel relieved that many of you feel the same. Happier now.

Chorizo sausages for me. We had them yesterday.

Blue skies and sunny here too, Seacliff. Not sure about Spring being on its way. I think it started in December and I fear all the daffs will be over by the time Spring is official. Roses maybe?

grannylyn65 Sun 07-Feb-16 12:00:59

The weather is absolutely filthy here, is really cold and pouring with rain ( Perth )sad

Jalima Sun 07-Feb-16 10:36:51

This samsung tablet is not that obedient

Nelliemoser [wave] I can't see you at the moment though, you seem to have 'gone to ground', hope to see you climbing up my trellis when the weather warms up wink

Nana3 Sun 07-Feb-16 10:27:44

Happy for you and your blue sky seacliff nothing but grey here, but hoping for a walk this afternoon.

There are so many sausages to choose from ruby and granny my favourites are Cumberland and Sicilian.

The kind people who have answered me on GN in times of trouble have helped to keep me going. I think most gransnetters come up with good answers when needs must, something that makes a bad situation a little better. Or advice that moves us on, thank you all.

seacliff Sun 07-Feb-16 09:31:20

Well, glad to hear I'm not the only one who has felt "a bit miffed" at times, re repeat of something I had already posted and had been ignored on.

It's no great problem in the grand scheme of things, but some how comforting to know I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Well, at least the sun is out today and a beautiful blue sky, Spring is on the way!!

grannylyn65 Sun 07-Feb-16 09:15:57

Ruby, pork, beef or maybe venison??
